I'm in a need for a Jigsaw that can cut as square as possible 2" 3" to 4" corbells etc. been waiting for the Festool PS420 Carvex could you guys convince me that the Mafell P1CC is better? Thanks for your advice.

I don't own the mafell so can't comment on it but the more i read into the carvex the less it seems worth it to me. Guidance is the same as the festool trion and so is the visibility minus the light on the trion. Carvex has a brushless motor but I'm told it still doesn't have the bollocks the Trion did. If you need one now without spending a fortune go trion. If you want the most versatile feature rich saw out there get the mafell

Thanks for the reply Ghostfist,I hate the part that you need to adjust the blade guides when you replace the blades on the Festool and one minor complaint I have about the Mafell that for the money would've been nice to have a light, otherwise it seems like a solid powerful saw.

It's not that its a pain to adjust the guides, I do it for my trion, they were unable to get the mechanism right when they first attempted the carvex so they just went back to the Trion setup, which does work pretty good. Imo the carvex is only an incremental upgrade to their existing line and one not worth the price.

Thanks again ,I will most likely go with the Mafell , I really love my Mt55 track saw its a great saw and I don't think I will be disappointed with the P1cc as well.

I agree the blade guides can be a hassle to adjust. The Trion had the allen wrench, used for adjustments, stowed on the saw. The Carvex includes the allen wrench but there's no on-board storage on the saw. As for the lack of LED, I first thought that was a negative too. I have to say though after using the P1cc, I don't find myself needing additional light. The cut line visibility really good, even with the splinter guard installed. This is the best picture I have right now that shows how open the front end is. You would think dust collection would really suffer with this design but it doesn't. Attachments:

Thanks for the pic Woody, any cons with the saw? Have you done any deep cuts like up to 3-1/2" ? My main concern is how straight can it cut for doing corbels without using a bandsaw.

I hesitated buying this saw a year ago because of price and not being able to check one out at a local dealer. Now I just wish I hadn't waited so long. I haven't cut anything over 1-1/2" thick yet but these cuts have been spot on.

When I talked with TimberWolf it was three years through the manufacturer and the dealer would guarantee for one year.
