Ok, so there are already several threads about the different Erika saws, and a few about the fences. That being said, it looks like there is a pretty extensive list of other accessories available for the different Erika saws, and I wanted to start a thread devoted to these smaller parts and accessories. This is a place to post questions for those new to Erika saws, and if you already own an Erika please post photos, parts numbers, and functionality of all of those little parts and accessories. For starters, I'm wondering what the heck is the "Supplementary Support Plate" (037214)?? katalog.mafell.de/index.php?IdTreeGroup=12970&IdProduct=921It sells for $400+, but I can't really find any info about it. In one photo it is grouped with some of the out feed components (#16), but doesn't show how it interacts with other parts. Any info (or even better, PHOTOS!) would be appreciated

Not 100% sure how it works. Also when you buy the accessories for the Erika. The instructions are still for the old style. There is one for odd angles. Which I presume half's the angle for you. It's about £600 so quiet expensive. Some of the accessories for the Erika are not always sitting on the shelf when I got the router adapter kit it took about 3/4 weeks. I think mafell tend to make the accessories as and when needed

Does anyone have experience with the router table adaptor? I read the blog if the person who made his own. I'm wondering about Mafell's accessory - limitations, pros, cons etc

In the router adapter kit it comes with the fence plus a couple of spacer rings to reduce the size of the hole, on the table extension from 50mm to I guess 35 and 20mm and a couple of bar like things that go in the router where the guide bars on the router and are then used to fix the router to the extension table. They are only any use with the mafell routers. So if you have a router from other manufacturers you will need the adapter as well. So not completely stuck to the mafell routers. Just an added expense. The router fence connects to the table exactly the same way as the fences. When I got mine the clamping part didn't tighten enough. It was a simple fix of just removing a washer, so it would tighten more. The in and out fences move in and out and the out feed fence can be fine adjusted to 0 with the router cutter if doing the using the likes of a bull nose router bits. Extraction can be taken through the pipe. The table extension in the router can be set up so you are only using the table extension about 150mm the center of the cutter or by turning the table 180 degrees the surface of table of the saw can also be used if making rebates on doors or some other wide board.

That's helpful. how useful do you find it? I've been considering purchasing a router table but am rethinking if this setup saves some expense (haha not that mafell is inexpensive!).

For my own needs it works fairly well as I don't have room for both a router table or table saw. Router bits over 45mm diameter can't be used plus I work mainly by myself

Well that's me now got the sliding table for the erika. Nice piece of kit. Done a bit of a vid of using for the first time. On the longer pieces when I was cutting I should have put table extension rails on sooner. Which I did end up doing ,during the video. After doing the vid I had a mess about with the table extension rails on sliding table. I haven't tested yet, but I recon it is possible to cross cut a piece of board around 2400 x 600. Will give it a test run tommorow. Things like this make the erika so great

No there isn't much left to get only the parralel guide for rips. I can manage without it for now. The saw has cost a small fortune. Yet I've being building it up over time. Which has always being the way I've bought my tools. Also in 3 weeks I'm off to germany to ligna to meet all the mafell crew

Just being working out the options for using the sliding table to cut long wide pieces. Here is some pics how I set it up to achieve the task. For material 2m to 2.4 it is starting to push the limits. After 2.4m it is starting to get to the silly stage and some kind of extra support or stand is really needed or to turn the legs into a kind of support with wheels on the bottom. Below 2 m the cut starts to get a lot more manageable.

here is a vid using the sliding table to cross cut laminated pine boards 600*2000 approximately. Obviously the saw doesn't have the weight or mass of a large machine. Yet with a bit of support here and there and some weight added to the legs fairly large cross cuts can be achieved
