Do you have the side extension? If so, would you tell me the overall width left to right? Thx! I have the side extension rails but did not purchase the plate, I made my own quick and dirty. I'll get you some dimensions on how far you can move the rails out for maximum rip I should clarify. I'm wondering what is the overall width of the saw with extension rails installed. This will help me determine overall portability. Thanks!

The width of of the erika erika is approaching 510mm and the extension peices are either 800 or 1000mm the extension pieces have bolt to tighten to clamp onto the dovetail profile starting at 50mm then every 150mm and as long as 2 are clamped on so about 250mm onto the saw and 750mm overhang then that is roughly the widest achievable giving a cutting width of around 1m. How wide do you need cut.

Also the rails are designed to be easily removeable.

How wide do you need cut. It's not the width that I need to cut. The maximum I need to be able to cut is 24" (610mm). If I have to do extensive (or wider) sheet knockdown I will use my track saw. Generally I need to be able to reduce a 12" (305mm) board. I believe I will need the extension to rip any width greater than 8" (203mm). If I added your figures together properly, I believe that the overall width with the 800mm extensions will be around 42" (1060mm) and a depth of around 33" (838mm). If my numbers are correct, I believe that I will have to remove the extensions every time I want to carry this saw into a house.

if you need to cut around 610mm 2' and have the 800mm rails you only need 650 2'2" to the right of the blade. This would make the total width of just 900mm 3'. At the weekend I'll make a video showing how the extension attaches when all the parts are separate and you don't need to separate every part to move it. It's a bit like pulling a draw off its runners to separate it and putting on to the runners to assemble

All I say hitting the road at 30 mph with your face isn't the best thing to do

Please only do the video if you are absolutely up for it. I would rather know that you are rested than know how the saw works. Take good care.

Had just posted on your 'Italian' ride thread - then read this. What a pain! You'll have to post a photo, when repaired of course, of you smiling
