I wonder what kind of box the "box" is.. The same long red one the 400 comes in?

I would suspect it is the larger metal box, yes. I can't see how they could fit it in a SYS but it could probably be squeezed into a MIDI sys. Which I would prefer.

Just got word from Tobias. It will more than likely be a metal red box. Like the 60 came in.

cali, I know you're already set, but as long as you're corresponding can you ask how much the new dust bag is for the rest of us?
wouldn't hurt to ask how much a cordless 55 replacement motor armature is either, sans battery. You know, just in case it got dropped... ( we all know that thing will bolt right on to our existing 55cc's ).

Wel I suppose I could make a mains to DC with an end that looks like a battery end. that would be useful to a few people, and I would have a 'captive' audience in Australia where LiIon battery are deemed unsafe at any speed.

Anymore snippets of info on these new releases, or do we have to wait 18 months or so before Mafell deem it worth posting on the homepage?
I must say, I'm impressed if they've truly got MT55 performance from an 18v pack (and with acceptable run-time)
Hopefully, it won't prove to be the case that they've tried to push 18v packs a bit too far, performance-wise.
Anyone here going to take one for the team and splash the cash? :-)

I'm thinking about getting the MT 55 cordless instead of the kss50 I already have the kss40 witch I love and can't think of a good enough reason to get the kss50, if it cut 2x4 on 45° I would be seriously considering it, is there anything I'm missing?

No, not really. If you have the KSS 40 - which is truly excellent - and the MT 55 cordless will do "them other things".
I used the MT55cc today, first time in three/four months. I simply use the KSS40 so much more. A KSS50 would sit well with me but my concern is that it is a slight compromise in portability and weight for that extra cm depth of cut. There are enough occasions for that extra cm to justify the KSS 50 though.
If I were to sell off my KSS 40 for a KSS 50 I might regret it, I am pretty sure of it. As I stated earlier I would dedicate the KSS 50 to outdoor/field use, stick with the KSS40 for indoor use and the MT55cc for the shop. Again, the least used machine is the MT55 which I could probably do without, even if it is arguably delivering the highest quality of precision/cut. I can live with one machine being of only sporadic use but preferrably having two machines that both see a lot of use.
I actually sold of a P1cc jigsaw a few months ago - I rarely ever used it. A couple of weeks later I would have had plenty of use for it for a project. I have a Metabo jigsaw which is ok but does not cut as square. But there is a limit to how many machines I can pile up for sporadic use - at least in this price range...
I hate stepping down in quality when it comes to equipment but sometimes the cost can't be justified for a machine that only gets sporadic use - a jigsaw is not a precision instrument in my book. A telling tale was that on three out of four occasions I could have used the P1cc I didn't even bring it...
...point of the whole story is that you should figure out your use of the individual machines, if you think you can do without one of them - you probably could.

I love my Kss40 it's such a great little saw and for most tasks I don't need anything bigger, like you said for the price of Mafell tools and my needs included I can't commit to the kss50 when I already have a Kss40 and rarely do I need a nicer cut then I can get with the kss40, but I may pull the trigger on the mt55 cordless as I would actually use it quite a bit, there's also alot of new Metabo tools comeing out that iv been looking at so I need to pick and choose what is on the top of my priority list unfortunately.

I've paid for the kss50. I should be one of the first in the queue.

Lomme: what new Metabo tools? Interesting. Calidecks: awesome! Hope they have rapid delivery. I am calling my pusher this week to find out if they have confirmed price and delivery date. Hoping to be early too - but hopes are not too high on getting any from the first batch.

Do my eyes deceive me?
Did you have to pay for a dustbag, or is one included and you just decided to buy a spare one, for another machine?
