I have preordered one too. Stopped bugging them about it since it was to no avail and the dealer did not get any firm answers from Mafell. Will change my order to "PURE" - without batteries - since I have more than I can use. It seems to be in stock at a few dealerships in Germany but none that ship to Sweden AFAIK and I haven't sourced up a PURE unit in stock anywhere yet. I could really use one on the next project starting in two weeks. But I ain't holding my breath... If you're going to buy one sans-batteries, bear in mind that it may be more expensive for you to obtain batteries seperately, in Sweden, at some later point in time, and that it's almost impossible to buy batteries on their own, internationally, these days, what with shipping regulations. If you can afford to buy one with batteries, I'd suggest you go ahead and include the batteries. But far be it for me to tell you what to do ;-)

Hopefully, the following will turn out to be a good omen for those of you in other countries around the world, but, for the moment, it relates specifically to the UK. NMA Agencies Ltd (UK Mafell distributor) posted this today, on their Instagram account: Here's hoping it's really happening, and not just hot air to string the punters along :-)

mafelluser: LiHD batteries are readily available over the counter here in Sweden, both single and three-packs with/without charger. Prices are competitive and has actually gone down last couple of months so now I feel I did the right thing ordering a PURE unit.
I have three LiHD 5,5Ah batteries, one 5,2Ah, four 3,1 LihD and can't possibly see how it would not see me through all the tasks at hand.
Recently they did release the 3,5 LihD batteries and they are priced same as the 3,1 LiHD but I don't feel any urge to upgrade. It is just nice to know there are options. Closest shop is a ten minute drive away and they have all the varieties in stock and free shipping as well if I am too lazy to drive into town.
But, I do think you are right in your assessment on shipping restrictions. I ordered a keyboard for my iPad and it failed to ship from the UK. (Ordered from the US and shipped from their subsidiary in the UK). A second attempt is currently underway with another carrier but it too seems to have run into problems... ...which in a way is silly as Li-Ion powered items are flowing over the border in thousands of units every day yet they still sort out some shipments and classify them as "DO NOT FLY" and send them back or to the NRC (No Return Center). The Li-Ion unit in my keyboard is well under the restrictions but somehow got singled out as a "DNF" item - perhaps for not being declared/rated.
This needs to be sorted out. ASAP
