You can imagine how adverse to hearing protection the knuckledragging USA-ians are..... idiots, all around. :/
I went with the "wimpy" (according to insanely ridiculous torture test youtube vids) Bosch impact driver (the one with the square drive and hex drive). It will be fine for my limited use. I'm picking up that 3 speed Metabo drill in two weeks, it's what's giving me the excites.
Henny Hen Hen will be saddened to know that my options are $399 for the drill kit with 5.5 LIHD's or $269 Bare tool + $200 battery kit for 3.5 LIHD. And you can't buy 3.5 LIHD batt. onesies, but you can buy 3.1 LIHD batt. onesies for $104 each, but they're backordered, indefinitely. :0
I could have bought the 400nm Metabo impact wrench with two 3.1 ah batteries for $329 though. Alas, it's a bit louder than an impact driver. Just a bit.

That Bosch impact has the sweetest grip!
That battery kit will come in handy I guess. At the moment the 3.1 are priced the same as the 3.5 which does not make sense. The new 4 has yet to materialize but I wouldn't sweat the difference between the two.
That brute Metabo would save me some money changing tires but I think the other Impact will suffice for my needs. In May I have some work that could use an impact though the A18m probably will take care of it too. Should I run into a bargain things could happen very swiftly.

I have the Makita RT0700 plunge base fitted on the Bosch OFA/FSN base. The plunge base can of course take the 18v router body. Hi aas, Do you need to drill holes into the OFA base or one or more of the screw holes are aligned with the Makita RT0700 plunge base? How many screws were used to attached the plunge base? The manual seems to indicate only 1 screw hole that is aligned for Makita RP models. Thanks.

I use the two holes marked 'I' and they line up with the holes to hold the guide bush/ring into the RT0700 plunge base.
