The blue and orange package smashers delivered my new saw today . All the parts were in good shape , the cardboard box had a few holes in it .
WOW Compared to the American cast iron saw and a cheap Makita roll around table saw , this Mafell saw is absolute quality !! The fit and finish is just excellent . Will add more thoughts and pictures later .
google+ got hacked.............

Thanks, thought it was a Delta.
Gotta ask, why the upgrade from a US made contractors TS to the Erika & why the 85?

Awesome pics...just curious - with the fence is there not an aluminum extrusion that you add to the black cast piece? Plans for a sliding table at all or any other accessories? How has the cut been thus far with the stock blade?

John Hi John Heavy machinery has its place on a house build , the 85 Erika can be moved by one person . Has plenty of power and ripping capacity , the pull function is the key feature. With out going on a long rant about the trades .........might be my last house build from the ground up to handing over the keys at the completion of all work.

How has the cut been thus far with the stock blade? Have made a extension for the rip fence with wood and a old extrusion .Working on a side table for the Extension rails .Standard blade is fine. Have a couple of Tenryu 250mm blades to try out. google+ got hacked.......no pictures

Nice pics. Looks like you are a big fan of Trojan saw horses. I love those things. I designed my portable work table around a pair of the shorter ones and use a set of the longer ones all the time.
No intention of changing the subject of the thread from the Erika to some silly saw horses- Erika is a much more interesting subject...keep the info coming, there isn't a lot of information out there about the 85.

What a table saw , should have bought one years ago . Would like to thank Wrightwoodwork ,Skinee ,Questa,Woodster,Kalas ,Robert Hickman and the staff of Mafell Users Forum . The many pictures , videos and conversation helped to commit money for a little known tool in the USA .
Likes so far Quiet powerful motor Dust collection is great MFA fence is so cool Pull stroke will simplify many cuts only weighs 76 pounds.......no more late helper for heavy equipment
dislike money.......my first new truck cost less!!! PS totally worth every penny Riving knife will need some work
hope the forum members dont mind the link for more pictures ...........google+ got hacked sorry no pictures.
