Jalvis- You mentioned your miter saw stand. Did you do the paulk design on it as well. I followed the links that ghostfist posted to his site and youtube channel. He makes a lot of cool stuff.

Ya the design website core 77 featured him a few times and did a few lengthy interviews with him as well. He's a nice bloke to boot.

I watched some core 77 stuff. Interesting. It's also interesting that I am stealing everyones material....two thirds of Ron Paulks work table and one third of core 77s name. lol.

haha nothing wrong with inspiration. Or you know you're on to something when someone else has already done it, or um lol(?)
core 77 is ...ok I hate it when they try to come up with wood working techniques, or showcase some silly black and decker fad drill, but their heart's in the right place. Sometimes some pretty cool design makes its way on there. I check it regularly.

There was a cool steel table on there that didn't look like it would even stand up but had a guy standing on it. I liked the physics of it and that it was artistic. I think a bit more form than function though and I don't want it in my house. interesting none the less.
Sounds like the big box stores, their heart is in the right place but sometimes when you overhear an employee giving a customer advice it can be pretty funny (or sad that someone is only a few hours away from screwing up their tile job).

There is plenty of cool stuff on the site though so it is worth checking. I'm looking at creating a new section on this forum that will post interesting links not necessarily related to just mafell but let's say making things. Stay tuned

This is by far one of my favorite tables. I have been building it in parts a little at a time. this isn't the most recent photo but it has since developed drawers on push lock slides and the handle. I will post that one later Attachments:

7 did you modify Paulk's design for the table or design your own. Based off of another thread I picked up a couple of the Trojan saw horses, wow those are great. Easy to setup and can be put away when I need to park the car back in the garage/workshop. I would like to use them for the base of the work table. Which your picture shows.

No I didn't following the Paulk design. My Miter stand is closer to Gary Katz design but with holes for the Festool clamps. www.garymkatz.com/ToolReviews/extension_wings.html

Which your picture shows. aaron I didn't see the Paulk design until recently. They look very similar from a distance mostly because of the hollow middle for storage but they are quite different in the details. My main two points of inspiration came from the Trojan horses and the mft clamping holes/ sacrificial surface that is replaceable. As well as buying a track saw and not wanting to cut kneeling on the ground. The trojans that I use for the table are the shorter ones. I also have the taller ones that I use a lot for general building, use them at least a couple times a week often more. I can take a picture of the bottom of the table if your interested in trying to adapt one to your trojan horses. The table is very stable on the horses, doesn't move at all. really fast set up & take down too.
