I was more referring to people's activities outside of the forum. Maybe some members worship some kind of squid god. It's not my position to judge. As long as no one is getting hurt, I don't care. Hi, I am based in the UK and wish to thank the good folk on this forum for the excellent information regarding Mafell ( and other brands ) of tools. I recently visited a local store to collect a couple of bits and found the following two KSS's precariously close to one another. Picture taken to show relative size. Unfortunately, whilst I stayed at the store for approx 1 hour it was not enough time for the KSS300 and KSS400 to procreate and bring forth a KSS350 into the world. I left the store with the P1CC and a couple of guide tracks, bags, angle devices etc. I had also taken delivery of the Bosch guide rail set, along with the carry bag etc. I believe the quality of the Mafell bag to be higher, using more padding to protect the rails. I shall put comparison shots up shortly. I look forward to learning from the wise folk on here. Cheers. Matt p.s. All hail the squid god.

Welcome Matt- Awesome prayer and pic. You are quite privileged to be able to go to a brick & mortar that sells Mafell. Most of us don't have that luxury, I would have loved to be able to see the 300 & 400 right next to each other before making the decision on which to buy. I agree with your comment on the KSS 350. Praise lord calamari.

Welcome! My P1CC is set to arrive tomorrow! It will be my first Mafell. Would love to have a local shop to see all of these tools in person too.

Hi i'm a Swedish carpenter and very happy to find this very interesting forum for Mafell. I've got a thing for high quality tools that make things a little bit eraser for us all. I have a small one-man company. I started as advertising photographer and building for my own setups almost like you Matt. And for now I mostly do woodworking and photo had become more of a advance hobby instead. I allways looking too upgrade my tools. My latest purchase was a Erika 85 whith extensionrails and routertable. It's a brilliant tablesaw. First I bought a Festool CS 70 whith all extras but was not impressed whith it's performance and exchange it for the Erika 85 instead, now that was an other thing to handle :-) don't get me wrong here, I own a lot of other Festool and are happy whith them. But I really like the precision of Mafell that let me repeatly do exact cuts without a lot of adjustments. At the moment I'm trying build a aluminumfence fit for the 70 and 85 that can support different jigs, for to making tenons and so on. I'm also trying to find a way to make an zero clearance inlay that fits in the slot. Maybe theres a solution among all of u guys? Interested of all your ideas. Bye for now :-)

Welcome to the forum I had thought of doing a zero clearance insert for the Erika. The way I had thought of doing it was to use a solid block of rubber fixing it at the front half of the lower saw guard with the blade lowered and the rubber block is flush with the table top then simply start the saw and raise the blade to make the 0 clearance. I haven't done but that is what had gone through my mind

Welcome to the forum. By all means share what jigs you're using with your Erika, it's still on my hit list....it's just a big hit

Hi guys,
Been using the forum for a few weeks now and completely neglected to introduce myself! Despite a big hint from someone! anyways, my real name is Zuber, UK based.
I am mostly a second fix carpenter, but sometimes dabble in some 1st fix. I also fit kitchens and wardrobes. But I'm mostly passionate about joinery.

Changed my profile Avatar. The last one, the table, was never meant to be permanent I was just becoming familiar with this whole forum thing and never got around to changing it. Finally moved my logo from my old computer. Anyway, same person. Not as drastic as when Jalvis changed his to the new (old now) dapper sophisticated one.

Hi guys. Found this forum after reaserching some new tool purchases I have plenty of festool bits some of which is going to make way for mafell. Partly due to superior quality and intuitiveness (not sure thats even a word) and also as the track can be used with bosch as I have come to realise I dont like the handle style on the festool routers as much as the 2 handed grip and I only need a small one for cabinet work. I am also working on making a vacuum clamp router jig kit....will post more on that another time! Like the vibe here especially the co operation on the 3d printing!
