That's a shame. He was a great person to deal with. Hope the Timberwolf personnel are as knowledgeable.

There isn't much of a lead time for some tools since Timberwolf stocks some items. I know they carry the MT55 and accessories so the lead time would be 5-7 days shipping.

Pretty impressive list you'll need to put up some of your projects. With the high cost of the tools and high quality do you find that on the projects you do that the tools are able to actually make savings on the projects Our workflow is not necessarily based on a mentality of savings, the tools rather allow us to perform certain tasks that would not have been attempted otherwise. I guess though if you take the example of the post regarding my MKS 130, ripping 5 boards at once will result in time and monetary savings. Typically we're not in production mode; a lot of 3D modeling and figuring and a little cutting. I'll try and post project and tool photos as time allows.

Hi, my name is Rod and I found the MUF in my search for a new track saw system. I am a hobbyist when it comes to woodworking and find a lot of enjoyment in my projects. My current project being a 36"x72" cutting table for my wife's sewing hobby/side business. The limits of my current system led me to the FOG where I learned about the Mafell mt55. I am interested in most tool brands while being tied to none. Home is in central California, in a small town rural setting. I have gained a lot from forums like this and appreciate those folks that spend the time and effort to create and maintain these boards. I hope to make my new tracksaw decision soon and until then will continue my research on the Mafell system. Thanks for this site!

Maybe right America is such a big market to crack and for a small company would be scary I think. That's why maybe mafell supply through timberwolf tools. As maybe they think timberwolf understands the American market better than mafell. Out of curiosity what would be the lead time on getting something like a mt55 Timberwolf seems to stock tools like the MT-55cc, P1cc, KSS-300, etc.... In-stock items tend to ship within 24 hours, and depending on where you live relative to Maine (I'm mid-continent), delivery usually take 3-4 days. Items like the Erika saws are apparently very low-volume tools, so Timberwolf special orders them. Sounds like it would be a roughly 2-3 wait time, from placing an order to receiving shipment. One nice thing, Timberwolf can order anything that Mafell manufactures, so there's no "NAINA" (Not available in North America) issues.

Welcome to the forum Rod!
I recently sold my TS-75 in favor of a MT-55cc. I haven't had a chance to really put the saw through its paces, though I can say right away that the Mafell tracks blow the Festool tracks away.

You're welcome here no matter what you choose to purchase. I don't think you'll find us poo pooing anything. Most of us use or are at least interested in mafell products and they may or may not be right for you. Selecting tools is something to research and thoroughly consider all the pros and cons of a particular purchase. Knowing this community, I think you'll get some sound and honest advice from people with user experience, not dealers, manufacturers or cult members.
Well some of them may be cult members but it shouldn't affect their opinions

I was more referring to people's activities outside of the forum. Maybe some members worship some kind of squid god. It's not my position to judge. As long as no one is getting hurt, I don't care.

Hi All, I am trying to become a hobbyist, right now I am still mired in renovations for my wife. We are redoing a small 2nd house so she can cut her commute and in a few years (3?) will hopefully break ground on a small retirement house in northern New Mexico. I started buying decent tools a decade ago, a lot of festool and they have been great for running back and forth to second house but was missing having a table saw there and the PM is definately not portable so started looking at new table saw and wanted a slider. I really considered a Hammer for a while until I saw the Erika, cost is something of a wash. In the end I just decided the portability is what I want and need right now. So I have an Erika 70 on the way. I did not get the extensions or rip fence but now think those will on the way in a month or so as well once I digest this cost. Once I get it I will post a few pics.

Hi questa, you won't be disappointed. The Erika is a most excellent choice. It's still on my wish list as well. I really look forward to hearing your findings when you've had some hands on time.

Yeah you will enjoy when you get. The options can be added as you go along or when need. Sometimes the hardest thing is deciding which options to get first
