Hello Kev. Robland, do you have the web address for Tobias? Thinking of getting the 10v drill. It looks quite powerful in the vid that wrightwoodwork has on youtube, where he is drilling mortice in a door.

I set the torque to 8-10 for the Mrs to put together IKEA and like Chancy Gardner... I like to watch.

Hahaha! My Mrs is a bit of a bogit and legit and I swear I'm OCD! So I do it all myself! I think I'm gonna sell my Milwaukee, its a bit light duty, but I will miss the offset chuck. Quick question, can you fit the drill bit chuck to the angled attachment? On the Milwaukee you can, in fact you can fit the offset to the angle attachment as well. His email address would be good, and the website address would be nice. Cheers

Cool thanks for the info. Can the drill chuck fit onto the angled chuck though, I couldn't tell from the answer. Like the following:
As you can see, the drill chuck can be used on the angle bit, It looks exactly like my Milwaukee.
Thanks

Thanks Yes the chuck fits on the angled piece. Where are you at? I have been wanting to try the Milwaukee chuck for a while. I would be interested in seeing if that Milwaukee offset chuck fits.

I'm in the uk, I think your a whole day a way! My friend in Yorkshire sends me stuff which takes about 10 days. But if you get the drill let me know if the Milwaukee fits. Or if you are near someone else in the UK that has one... Maybe Woodwright has one? I am interested in that offset chuck.

I hoping to go to a show in kempton park, in October , mafell are going to be there. There may be a deal on tools. Wether I buy it or not, I'll try to remember to take the chuck with me and give it a go.
I've never come across any maffel tool where I am, just festool.

I new here although I've been lusting after Mafell tools for ages. I'm from the UK but I live in the US now and unfortunately I wasn't into woodworking as seriously back then otherwise I'd have some Mafell stuff in the shop. It's great to see a forum like this without all the bitchiness.
I'm only a part time woodworker who mainly uses Japanese hand tools but there are times when I have to use a machine. I have a makita track saw at the moment and its okay but not great. The tracks are an arse to align as well.
Being from the UK, I'm constantly frustrated by the tools available there not being available here. I ended up with the mak because I couldn't get the Bosch and Mafell was just too much money. I've dabbled with Festool (I did have a mft and saw a few years ago) but got fed up with having to order bits online and the general aloofness of those on their fan forums. Ironically, I now have a local builders supply that's a festool dealer :/
I was just wondering if anyone here that's located in the US has ordered the Bosch track saw? I may decide to save for a mt55 but that's probably a long time off.

Welcome aboard. we try our best to keep bitchiness at a minimum but the odd crank slips in albeit temporarily. might be harder to get the Bosch this side of the pond than the Mafell but I haven't researched it too much. Would love for you to share some knowledge on Japanese woodworking. I'm sure the gang will do their best to help with any questions.

I may decide to save for a mt55 but that's probably a long time off. The Mt55 is cheaper out of Germany, and being outside the US I have not had the pleasure os using the US distributor Timberwolf. Locally the Bosch tracks were available, so much cheaper then flown in from Germany. Other than the blue writting and blue splinter guard they are the same as the Mafell ones. And the Bosch clamp (OFA KIT 800) works on the Mafell. I may have some Japanese tool questions [scratching chins]. Where in the US are you? I'm in Western Maryland about 75 miles from all the nutters in DC.
Feel free to ask questions about Japanese tools and I'll do my best to answer them.
As far as the saw goes, I've seen the MT55 for around the $650 mark from a bloke on fleabay based in Germany. I can't remember off the top of my head if that was with a rail or not. I'm guessing if I go that route and something goes wrong with it that I may well be out of luck on any warranty?
I might see if I can find someone interested in the Mak saw and then it won't be so painful to buy the 55.
