I believe they are just bolting on a new motor and battery without any changes to chassis. Unless they also improved / remedied 45º registration.

I was referring to comments on “mt55 is this a joke thread “ about trim being off the strip on 45 thanks for info yes. definitely test it out, wasn't suggesting that not be done, just thinking that the mechanics that cause the issue most likely won't differ because they are the same body except for motor, but it would be nice to know if mafell has made an effort with the cordless to address 45º.

Ok, just got back home. I can confirm that a 45 degree cut does not correspond with the rubber lip. So, basically, same problem, same solution with the red offset slider.
In practice it is a little awkward as you have to sight it in or measure against the cutting strip and then adjust the offset by moving the rails by that offset against the cut mark.
I guess you can take note of the exact offset at the most common angles but for critical cuts it is a little awkward to have to adjust markings for angled cuts and keep track of what side of the cut that offset is supposed to be.

Good work henrun this topic might run a bit me thinks again I don’t cut on the 45 all that much but it should be on.

Me neither, pretty much 95% of my cuts with track saw are straight cuts, a few cuts at a slight angle for fitting purposes and maybe a single 45 cut a year (!). I usually do them on a table saw, mitre saw or even a pull saw. Can't even remember last time I made a 45 cut with a tracksaw.
I can probably get by with the painstaking "check offset against cut mark, reposition and cut" for those rare cuts at an angle. Just need to remember that.
For people working a lot on MFT style work tables with tracksaws I guess the offset is a lot more annoying.

Forgot to add that the MT55/18 cuts like a champ. I can't tell the difference in use against the MT55cc.
Cut down some 19mm oakboards and it sailed through with impeccable cut quality. I haven't cut any really thick material with the MT55/18 yet though.
For practical purposes I think I might still hold on to the MT55cc, it has paid itself and I have three quality blades in great condition so selling it might free up a little space on the shelf but next time I need to cut a lot of Staron/Corian I might regret not keeping the corded saw. I have a plug it connector on it and Festool vac/hose in the shop.
And yes, the bl**dy Mafell Dustbag fell of two or three times today too... ...sorry Mafell - it's going in the Bin!

Yes, I can't work the saw like I can any other saw - moving it around, lifting it once, cutting, putting it down - bag falling off - reinserting the bag with force, repeat... Then it stays put for a few minutes before the conical shape works itself loose. Two bags out of two, on two different machines. It is not a coincidence. It is not like it is my first machine or portable saw with an added dustbag. Mafell is arguably the only one I have come across so far that has done a really poor job - which is even more annoying considering it is not a Ryobi or (insert generic cheap brand name here).

Don't sweat it Holmz, just send me your address in a PM and I'll send it to you for free. I have two of the b*stards now; one I can use on the KSS40 - I don't need a spare. / Henrik
