rizzoa13 as you are(I believe) the only one with this saw can you post a few photos of the saw please, also a photo of it along side the corded version(if you have that saw), would be great. may I also ask some questions:did the saw blade align with the anti splinter strips on your existing FSN rails? or was it off as has been reported regarding the kss 50. why did you choose the cordless mt55 over the cordless kss 50.thanks in advance.

Hey skinee, I don’t have the corded mt55 just the corded ts55 so I’ll get you a comparison pic of them. All I have on my phone right now is the new saw by itself. i chose the mt55 because I absolutely HATE my Festool tracksaw. It just has way too many shortcomings and I’ve been trying to go more cordless since getting heavy into the Metabo battery platform. As a comparison I can say the cordless my55 destroys the Festool corded in every measurable way. Obviously the convenience but also the cut quality, rails and power are way better. I hadn’t cut my splinter guards previously as I’ve only used the jigsaw and it doesn’t get that close. i went with the tracksaw over the kss because of the poor reviews here. I use a tracksaw semi-often and really wanted the kss50 but wanted to upgrade my tracksaw and see the power this size battery saw could produce. I’m not disappointed so I’ll be grabbing the kss50 or maybe even the kss40 soon. I don’t really bevel framing often and if I do I’ll use a corded saw. As long as the 40 can bevel 1x I’m good with that. Attachments:

Another observation. The bag is amazing. It fits right, turns and has detente so it wont move in use and really captures all of the dust. Once it’s full you realize it QUICK.

thankyou for the photo and the reply, isn't it odd that the bag fits and works well on the mt55bl but not on the kss 50.i too wanted the kss 50 and could have forgave most of the faults reported but what rules it out totally for me is it not aligning with the anti splinter strip on exsisting rails,i just couldn't afford to carry another set of rails for one saw.thanks again for posting.

I don't 'need' this saw, I have a very good MT55, and I find it a bit ugly with the battery appendage stuck on the side like that - but I really want one!

It has much more power than the corded ts55. It’s really night and day.

Asking about the cordless ( I hate cords thinking about cordless vacuum and cordless tablesaw and cordless mitersaw ) Oh I don’t have the tsc sorry. But really why would you want that junk 😜. Probably the worst battery platform of all tools.

Probably the worst battery platform of all tools. When I got my HKC 2015 (in Hungary)there was noting on the market The saw is good ,a little underpowered was hoping kss 50 might have a little more MM It is the daily driver with kss300 On the TSC I got it when it became available in US also works well but was hoping to upgrade the saw and put all cordless saws on same batterys and same rails and eliminate the festools rails and splinter guards from daily use The 40 is coming to replace the 300

Checking in on this thread as I just took delivery of the MT55 18 bl. Long story short: I did some deep thinking / soul searching and came to the conclusion that the KSS50 is too close to the KSS40 for me and that the MT55 18bl together with the KSS40 is a better pairing for my needs. The tipping point was the ability to share the same rails. I will still use the KSS40 probably 80% or more and the MT55 18 bl for plunge cuts, thicker material and such. I can even see myself selling off the corded MT55cc if the MT55 delivers. The MT55cc is always in the workshop so I can probably justify keeping it in the workshop but if I ever get two more batteries along the way I might as well have the MT55 18 bl in the workshop and pick it up when needed. If I were to have just ONE saw the KSS50 might have been "it" but since I am mostly working sheet goods and trim the KSS40 covers most needs. The KSS50 will be shipped to a forum member in Australia. Stays in the family so to speak. I would have loved to try out the 16T blade for the KSS50 which also arrived today (finally) but it feels better to include the blade unused with the KSS50. Joszef K: I think you will be very pleased with the KSS 40. It is not as powerful as the KSS50 but the small blades do a great job. I don't think it is much behind the HKC55 in "real/useful" power. Skinee: If you want side by side photos with the MT55cc I can probably make it happen tomorrow (Friday). I could probably squeeze in a little photo session during the day.

This is correct, yes.
The KSS40 and MT55cc align the same, the KSS50 was off by nearly a full mm.
I will check the MT55 18m bl tomorrow for alignment as I have rails for the KSS40 nearby. I am really hoping they are the same. I haven't checked it the MT55 18m bl has lateral adjustment or not.

Wow henrun you certainly don’t mess around if a saw is not quite right you move it on straight away I wish I could , hence kss400 two years ago bought “I was flush with money at the time “ never even made a cut with it it’s in my workshop unused “240 v if anyone’s interested “ ? I will be interested to hear what your thoughts are on the mt cordless I am thinking of maybe selling my corded to replace it with myself . Still loving my kss50 cordless “I’m not gonna sell “ but get your point about the rails I tend to keep rails just for perticular saws extravagant I know “some are Bosch though “ again it boils down to what work you do etc there is no one do it all saw the kss50 comes pretty close if I ever had to have just one saw . Metabo 57 not arrived yet so can’t report yet , hybrid square only had little go with but impressive .
