This gun is for Azeks and Timbertech. I don't see any reason it wouldn't work for Trex or Fiberon.

Ahh, I like that because nothing's worse than a loose rail post a few years down the road, plus the extra rim helps to stiffen too. Overkill, can be very economical when it keeps clients referring you and their lawyers from calling you.

Overkill, can be very economical when it keeps clients referring you and their lawyers from calling you. Not only a double rim, we install a Simpson hold-down on the top bolt of each post, and another hold-down to the framing on the other side of the block.

The KSS40 works great for cutting a a scribed line due to its small blade. I love that little saw. Actually, that's a really good point - it's not just about DOC (and bevel DOC), important though that is, but also about being able to cut non-straight scribed lines, so I can absolutely appreciate that there may be sufficient validity to lose some DOC if it means being able to 'cheat' on the linearity of cuts, when required. Thanks.

I don't usually see the deck wrap along the side of the house. Is that common?

wait until under way and then suggest & up-charge for running sleeves for future camera system, drip irrigation, additional hose bib, etc.
are you building a gate/fence at side of house or is that for others.

No gate. I try not to get hung up on too much of the other stuff. I'm booked out about 4 months right now.

How long does trex last? No termite danger or do you do something to help trust the beams on the footings?

How long does trex last? No termite danger or do you do something to help trust the beams on the footings? I use all .40 and .60 ACQ for framing. It's rated for ground contact. However, it's not normally touching the ground. The Trex boards have a 25 year warranty.
