I don't mind telling. I charged 40k for that deck. The decking is composite the framing is .40 ACQ pressure treated Doug Fir. Really that's what your pressure treated looks like over there? Pretty cool. Much better than our standard green tinged garbage thst you need to hide or face to make look good. On the price, 40k is a good number for you but I can see the quality you put out so it's warranted. Cost of living and cost of EVERYTHING is higher there I'm sure too. My wife and I can live here for 50k a year. That includes food, gas insurances, mortgage everything but fun money. We bought our home 25 years ago though.

The brownstone is a second coating just for looks. It blends nicely with the landscape.

Slope, footings, railing, electrical, hassles … it adds up quick. You get it! It does add up quick. The last thing they want me doing is stressing out over money. That makes the whole job sucky. "If you think I'm expensive, wait until you hire the cheap guy"

That is beautiful work calidecks. Very fitting into its surrounding space. I have a feeling anyone who gets to enjoy it will be asking who built it. I would be.
You mentioned the seismic issues ( I used to have a test facility in Van Nuys and was out there right after Northridge ) so I was wondering what you had to do with the footings, and anything else that was special. East coast shoreline we have other stormy issues.

In fairness to the 'cheap guys' they're the unsung hero's of job creation in this county.
Half my business comes from their mistakes.

East coast shoreline we have other stormy issues. You'll notice a perimeter 6x12 beams tying the bottom to the top. Also some pretty beefy knee bracing. The A-35 on each block for transfer. The footings are the 5' to daylight rule due to the slope. Meaning you keep digging until leveled across the bottom doesn't hit daylight for a minimum of 5'. The minimum even with the 5' rule was 30". We don't have a frost line out here, so that's not an issue. Here's the structural detail.

It's almost as if Mafell was made for deck builders. The tools are perfect for exterior finish work. As I said before, I can't wait for the kss50 to hit the market.

Thanks Calidecks. The closest quaking I get to lately is when the neighborhood Earle Weapons Station sets off expired ordinance. Since they won't confirm or deny the existence of nuclear, so far the disposal just gets your attention with a little cupboard rattling.

So I ordered the smaller 36v battery. All worked well After a slight modification to the battery housing. It wasn't long enough to disengage the blade lock mechanism. So I added this to it.
