I think the recent price rises in Germany as reported in another post by endrju are outrageous,up to 25%!!!,how can that be justified by mafell, its only a matter of time before these price rises filter through to elsewhere, here in the UK we will be doubly screwed as the exchange rate between the pound and euro is so bad after the brexit vote it has already effectively raised prices significantly, this will only put off potential mafell adopters/customers,i had been considering the k85 from Germany but will now not bother.

Are you sure that the prices really increased by 25%? Could be that the bloke was checking prices w/o VAT and then w VAT. VAT \Mwst. is currently at 22%. Prices rising by 25% would indeed be steep..

Prices rising by 25% would indeed be steep.. well I cant remember the exact price before and after but the price of the k85 seems to be about 120-150 pounds more, that is purely a best estimate from memory,i had been watching one on ebay from maschinenwelt which then went out of stock, with certainty I can say that the kss40 pure version has had an increase in price from 639 euro to 717 euro now which I guess is a little over 10%,that is still a big rise, much more than inflation,i think holmz was thinking of getting an Erica, perhaps he can chime in if he has noticed a significant price rise in it

Looks like an average of 5% on MR Tobias website ,we in the USA did not see a price increase for 2017 .A balance in the global price structure for Mafell ? ......who knows .

Been talking to a Mafell dealer today, and he hasn't heard of price increases of that kind. He knew that the battery-driven KSS got a lot more expensive..

I'm in Sweden so price increases might be local. But if the prices were to rise 'across the board' , i'm sure my dealer would have heard of it.

well the price rises are here now in the UK and have hit like a sledgehammer, the k85 EC was £858 and has now went up to £995 with the dealer I normally use, that is an increase of virtually 16%,disgraceful and totally unjustified given that inflation stands at less than 2%,this is surely madness from a business standpoint, mafell are pricing themselves out of the market.

When I corresponded with my seller the subject came up of prices going up on the next shipment after they sold off the batch I was buying from. I just dismissed it as sales tactics and bought anyways.
I figure if the tool is making your life a little easier plus making you money it's still a pretty good deal.
Mafell will continue to make bank off of Bosch sales though.

Are you sure that the prices really increased by 25%? Unfortunately yes, this is price chart from idealo.de (price comparison website in Germany) for base Erika 85 Ec (without attachments): MT55cc MaxiMAX package: I figure if the tool is making your life a little easier plus making you money it's still a pretty good deal. Agreed! My situation is slightly different, as I'm just hobbyist. I'm building my woodworking kingdom (aka workshop) for the days when I become bored with IT world. For now most of my projects are weekend projects. I really enjoy quality tools, but the worst part is that I can afford such expensive "toys". I've been thinking about Erika, but after price increase I'm thinking about either buying Festool Precisio CS 70 (cheaper, still cool) or putting my money towards Hammer K3 saw. Price for Erika+accessories is not that much smaller than for Hammer. Sure those two are completely different beasts and I would loose portability deciding on Hammer.

Beautiful Old Town. And i liked the old jewish graveyard in Kazimirz. Yep, I absolutely love the city! Do you import from Germany? It really depends. For instance Mafell used to be much cheaper in Germany than in Poland. Used to be, as after Mafell's new sales model/strategy besides it brought higher prices, it also unified prices across EU, so there is not that much to save for me.

I totally agree the price increases are outrageous and they are pricing themselves out of the market for small buisness owners.
I'm in need of a KSS80, MF26 and ZSX Ec 400. KSS 80 - €1200 MF 26cc/400 - €1750 ZSX Ec 400 - €5000 ----------- Total €7950
Festool offers beam saws as well and with their new KSS saw copies, they also offer a rebate cutter attachment on the HK85.
HK 85 - €640 Rebate cutter attachment - €435 SI330 beam cutter - €980 ---------- Total € 2055
I'm seriously considering switching back to Festool again. The Festool rails suck, but at least everything works on the same rails, which is something that really bothers me with Mafell's KSS lineup. You have the KSS300 and its seperate KSS rail. Then you have the KSS400, KSS60 & MF26cc which fortunately use the same rail and then the KSS80, which again has its own KSS rail. This might not be a problem for others, but it bothers me that you have to carry 3 seperate rails. Why doesn't 1 size fit all Mafell?
Seriously, I love you Mafell, and your products are of higher quality, but I simply can't justify or afford to pay 4x more!!!!! for your tools compared to the competition. Festool will get my job done as well, and a lot cheaper. I can do a lot of other stuff with the €5900 I save...
These price premiums are ridiculous. What are you thinking? You're losing at least 1 loyal customer here.
