Yeah it's made by mafell nice and solid typical mafell quality I can extend it over time with other fences adjustable legs and plates to support the work piece. the main job I got it for was when dwanging for 600 centers I can cut all the dwangs at the size to correspond to the joist or ceiling thickness no need to measure and mark each individually. It's only the first at last should be different unless there is a space with a different center then the other item I wanting to get later is the extension table and supports for when doing wide rips over 250 or to give support to sheets when ripping

I have a precisio from Festool very good too but the controls for tilting the blade are underneath and the table is not that stable IMHO. I bet that the Erika is one step up.

Just got myself a 1m guide fence extension and drop stop for the Erika . Be good for ceilings (noggings) or cutting the heads of door facings or any job with repeat cuts View AttachmentView AttachmentBeing using the 1m guide rail extension a little bit at work this week. Absolutely amazing accuracy. Was working the bosses son who is just finishing his 2nd year apprenticeship. At the end of the day had simple ceiling hatch to make with a set of facings all the way around like a picture frame. I started by making a simple box with 2 sides the same and front and back the same and pinned together. For the facing I worked out my sizes from long point to long point including list. So 2 at one size and 2 at the other size. Then without even taking a measurement on the facings set the stop for the first pair and cut left and right mitres. Then moved the stop to the next size again without measuring any sizes on the facings and made cuts for final pair of facings. Then we took them upstairs to finish making the hatch. Fixed the first piece, which was spot on including the list given. My apprentice was like you going to check the others. I was like no they will be right. I chased the next price around spot on and the same with the next piece. On the final it fitted like a glove. I hadn't once needed to use a block plane to fit a mitre they where all spot on. He was pretty amazed at how accurate it was first time. Compared to using the chop saw where I would have to mess about to get the mitres to fit especially the last piece

Yes any vac will work ideally the 50mm hose is recommended. So you can also get suction from the top. You can still use a 27 or 35mm hose minus the suction from the top. You do need to use a reducer which could be the mafell one or as an other member has done is buy a cheap plumbing fitting. I did the same couldn't quiet get the size I wanted do used some plumbers tape or any other type would do to make the fit more snug

Had to work today doing a house of finishings didn't expect there being power so didn't bother taking the hoses for the vac as the generator wouldn't run the saw and the vac. So I just took the cardboard box. There was power next door so could have taken. Anyway the other joiners had there chopsaw and a vac going. I had way less dust around me maybe I guess 5% and that is being generous and the dust us from a rip that was on the edge so the dust tends to escape. Tommorow when I go in I will take a couple of pics to show the difference. The ironic thing is if health and safety walked in I would get told I can't use cause no vac connected and the would be able to carry on even though there is more dust on the floor

Here is the couple of pics comparing the dust left. The only reason for dust from the Erika is rip on the edge
