I really like that riving knife! Normally I have to remove the knife altogether to make a cut like this. I'm sure that helps take pressure off the blade.

It's the small details in the saw that make difference like the riving knife being so simple to move up.and down

That knife is amazing. I also didn't know you could lock the forward pull function of the blade. Really great features.

Yeah you lock the blade in the middle the reason you can do this is so when you are ripping stock down you have more support, you can also extend the table out the back all well as the sides by using the rail extensions and a bit of ply to give you a bigger out feed table

Sorry have to do this remark: You really should start protecting your eyes and ears working with Machines like the Erika or the KSS. And as professional craftsman you should know it. You have only 2 eyes and you need them to earn your money... Think your insureance company would tell you the same A friend of mine nearly lost his thumb a few weeks ago, he was tired and stressed and used gloves working with a drill press (yes everyone knows you shouldnt doo this, he too). The thumb was ripped out with the tendon etc. up to his shoulder. You can imagine hes not doing well untill now, even they put everything back in its place.

Sorry guys. I've been MIA for a while. Our first son arrived a couple of weeks ago and the Erika has been sitting still a bit. It'll be a few more weeks before I can have anything to add in this discussion. All I can say is that for the short while I have had it I am very impressed of the quality. I find myseld using the pull function most of the time even with the sliding table as an option. Being able to lock the blade to operate it like a normal table saw leaves you with many options of how to perform a cut. I think if more people had access to one of these saws to try it out it would sell quite well in the US. Even at the steep price it comes at..

No you're totally right I should wear eye protection and ear defenders have to admit to being guilty of not doing it. In the uk you have your large companies health and safety on these jobs is different planet it's hard hat, gloves, glasses, hi viz vest all the time where small companies is no where near as strict. You get hi viz vests hear but I stopped wearing as for me always too loose and a risk of flapping tail getting caught

Oh yeah congratulations on the wee one hope you wetted the babies head. Not a problem to show videos of any of the tools. The hardest bit is phone not falling over and then having to wait for it to Download , plus it let's people see in real life situations
