Okay boys I ordered the KSS40, A MAFELL 4m 27mm hose and three 24 tooth blades from Germany. Tobias is an absolute great person to deal with. I'm pretty sure I'll be getting the corded 60 as well. My thinking is the 60 won't be used as much so when I do need it a cord will be fine.

I have the cordless kss60, but i don't see me using it very much i just wanted to have it. when you need to cut to the capacity the kss60 is capable of you will want to use the corded. i bought it just for a few quick cuts not for prolonged use all day.

Just curious what made you choose the smaller saw? I have had my eye on one of these for awhile, just have had some other priorities to add first. I thought you were really pushing for the larger size. What kind of work do you plan on using it for?

I build Composite decks. I don't want to lug around a 14.5 lb saw all day, which is what the 60 weighs. This one's only 8 lbs, cuts 1" at a 45 and the brushless motor should be plenty. I use the Milwaukee cordless saw as a daily driver and it has plenty of power. I'm getting to damn old to drag around my wormdrive these days.

I am sure you will find the KSS 40 a great little machine. Unless I cut very thick or delicate stuff I use the KSS 40 for most of what I used to cut with the larger track saws - and more, it is a superb allrounder. It is very convenient and I have often been able to leave the SCMS at the workshop.
I had the corded KSS 60cc for a brief period and posted here when I received it. It is a great saw but it does not really fit the kind of work I usually do and I am happy with dividing the tasks between the MT55cc and the KSS 40 with the KSS 40 doing most of the work.
Like Ghostfist I used the KSS 300 for quite some time and I was thinking I might keep it but after having used the KSS 40 for an hour or two I decided I really didn't need to hold on to the KSS300 - I think the KSS 40 is better.

Not sure if you've used the Milwaukee 18v brushless circular saw, but in your opinion do you believe the Mafell KSS40 is at least as powerful? I own two of those Milwaukee saws. It may seem unprofessional, but I use them daily, even though I own 6 wormdrives. The three saws I use to build decks with, are the kapex, the Milwaukee 18v brushless, and the MT55cc. I would like to replace the Milwaukee with the KSS40.

if you use it for your profession, then it can't be unprofessional. the 40 has never let me down for power

I'm thinking of getting my leads each a 40 as a bonus. It will be there's to take with them if they ever leave.

For 7 bucks what's not to like? Composite eats blades badly. So with these, I can change them often.

Non-tool post.
I realize this is a personal thing, but I'm real uncomfortable with names, phone numbers and company names when posted for security reasons. Even in attached images that I realized can't be easily scanned by bots. When I grab a screenshot off my iPad I edit the photo by sizing to remove details where I can.
Just saying.

As I've had to do in other forums when I got hyper about my own posts, now we have to get a mod or other members who quoted you to address their posts. It takes awhile but it will get done.
Between my Yahoo, BlueCross and other accounts that have been hacked, and some other spoofing issues over decades, I've just gotten real hyper since the companies/sites that have my info can't hold back the attacks. I couldn't figure out why contacts in my yahoo address book were getting all this crap as though it was from me, then I found out way earlier my info had been compromised, and Yahoo never told anyone.

Those look great for composite decking, I'm interested to hear how you like them. I'm guessing that for my work I would miss the ~3/8" of depth. If anybody finds a cheap 120/20mm blade, be sure to post up!
And by the way, if you give all your leads a KSS 40, you're going to be nominated boss of the year!

... And by the way, if you give all your leads a KSS 40, you're going to be nominated boss of the year! People often have more respect for thing when they are invested in them. So it may be better to go in halves in a psychological sense (??). The good part is that everyone will be on a similar tool, and batteries and chargers can make it easier to work together (assuming that they do). But I am not a psychologist nor a decking person, so disregard my ramblings thoughts.
