A thread for the MUF to discuss any modifications users have made to their saw and discuss changes we'd like Mafell to make to the Erika line.

I'd say easier access to blade change and ability to use a dado stack. Maybe a zero clearance ability. All in all I'm extremely happy with my erika

There is no throat insert on the erika. I could be mistaken but dado stacks ain't kosher in the eu. Only standard blades will work

I don't think dado stack will/can ever happen. They're pretty much illegal in the EU.

I would like to see the button that operates the push pull be able to operate the on off either through wifi or Bluetooth or some other wireless technology and maybe a way to have a scoring blade

Also locking the height adjustment during pull saw functions. I can stay consistent but I would be good for security.

The height not locking during the pull is kind of rediculous. On the idea of a dado stack I realize there is no throat insert per say but couldn't an industrius person cut a wide enough hole for the dado stack and drop a homemade zero clearance insert into it? My question is whether the saw can handle the spinning dado stack. I know I can make it happen it's just will it do harm to the saw.

good thread.
Wish list. Minor stuff, over all very happy with the purchase except price. I just noticed that TW price now on the 70 is $600.00 more that what I paid a couple of years ago.
1) a slightly longer vac hose to the blade guard.
2) a 1M fence similar in profile to the MFA so the blade guard does not have to rise on short pieces. You can see how it was adjusted in this video. But to me it seems like it should be a no brainer to stock.

No. The blade housing is similar to that on a full sized slider minus the trap door forblade changing

My wish list, in order, (mostly repeats).
Zero clearance capability. Not having an easy way to close the throat plate makes me crazy almost ever time I use it. Dado stack compatible. Yah, I know, ain't gunna happen, but it would be so awesome. Easily removable riving knife. Can't tell you the number of times I've needed to remove it ... Locking height adjustment for the pull function. This should have been a no brainier. Better rip fence. Neither of the extensions supplied with the Universal & MFA fences accept the drop stop. Why? This renders them so much less useful. Easier blade change. I find myself using the supplied blade when I know I shouldn't, just because of the hassle with changing it. Longer vacuum hose for the blade guard. I've given up on it until I can come up with an expectable replacement. Cost & warranty in NA. Silly expensive here AND we only get a one year warranty.
