anyone have or used either of the following metabo impact drivers? - the small SSD 10.8v(compatible with the mafell A 10 m batteries) or the SSD18LXT(compatible with the mafell A 10 M batteries)

just to correct the above post the 18v impact driver is of course compatible with the 18v mafell batteries(not the A 10 M)

Was considering the impact wrench they make. Though haven't tried it?

Yes, I have the 18v Metabo. It's not bad, but I've had/used better. If you can hang off for a while, they are releasing a new model, with brushless motor, this year. I'll be grabbing one as soon as it's released. Having said that, there's nothing really wrong with the current model, it's just not as 'smooth' as some other ones out there. The build quality isn't up to their normal standard, either.

I also have the impact and the hammer drill in their 18v LiHD platform and I'll second whatLincoln said. If you need an impact and are invested in their battery platform then go for it. I couldn't think of anything it couldn't handle tbf and the batteries are amazing.
That being said the hammer drill in the same line is much nicer and has a better feel to it. Either way you can't go wrong with Metabo. I just got the battery spotlight and that thing is legit too.

Sometimes a dodgy bit can be problematic for driving a screw in, but the drill has the torque for it.

After a couple of trips to the doc, and a nerve test, I've been told I have severe carpal tunnel syndrome. I've been an impact driver user for about fifteen years. I have absolutely no proof, but I think my last two impact drivers have added to, or maybe even caused, the problem. I've ditched the Metabo, and today bought the latest 18v Bosch brushless impact driver - much lighter, and much, much smoother. I can't feel the 'impacts' going up my arm, like I could with the Metabo and Hilti that I had previously. Maybe it will make no difference, but it feels like I did the right thing.

That sucks Lincoln. I think those things have a lot to answer for both in the wrist and forearm muscular and nerve departments and also the noise is horrible.
Plenty of hearing issues are going to come up down the line from them. I only use mine sparingly now.

I had surgeries started switching to tools that didn't agravate it so much Biggest difference short stroke sawzall , switching from steel handle hammers and using impact instead of drills to drive screws

Switch hands , lincoln . Tough to switch for sure , am left handed and can only write with my left . Now the right hand is getting bad from all the tool use . The most refined impact driver...........Makita 6952 corded impact driver ."smooth operator" and very quiet compared to the cordless models .

Well I just got the 18V Metabo 400 nM impact. (They also have a 200 and 690). Now off to get their LED work light, as my black diamond Icon either got misplaced, pinched, or plain lost.

Third similar post (spreading the Love) Got me the new Metabo 200 BL, arrived today. Confusingly named just like the previous model with the addition of BL for BrushLess. Feels good in hand and feels more agile than the previous model and with better specs. Next week will see the machine put through its paces. The new Metabo feels like a "silent upgrade" which is too bad, it definitely feels like a good upgrade and a solid unit. Grip could have been slimmer but I have small to medium hands. It does not bother me really, it is just that I prefer slim grips.

How do you like the 400 so far Holmz? I was thinking of getting it over the new 200 but decided I would do very little "wrenching" and far more driving/drilling.
