I recall reading that the rip version of the KSS80Ec/370 crosscut system -- the K85Ec -- can be purchased with an L-Max storage case. As most of you probably know, the KSS80Ec/370, due to the track component of the system, does not come with such a case.
What have some of the KSS80Ec owners on the board done to keep their saw protected?
By the way, protection is the important thing here, so an appropriate case doesn't necessarily have to be White, Red & Black.

I got a Bosch L-Boxx 4 for my saw. Put some foam in the bottom and it fits well along with the parallel guides. The track just hangs out in my shop since it is too long to put in the case. Works pretty well. I am thinking about one of the boags, but the rail might be too wide to fit in the Mafell case.

Do you need any help -- measurement wise -- with that Mafell bag/sleeve, Mr Tool Junkie? We bought one when we invested in our Mafell guide rails -- so I could measure it for you, if you like...
Just let me know, Red

I didn't get out to the jobsite today, MTJ, so I'll have to check that out for you next time. I'll get back to this thread when I have something for you.

Dont think the cross cut rail will fit in the bag. I have the Bosch bag and the width limit is 20cm.

Dont think the cross cut rail will fit in the bag. I have the Bosch bag and the width limit is 20cm. My back went "out" this week, MTJ, so I haven't been out to the jobsite lately. I have managed to get a measurement of the Mafell guide rail bag we ordered with our rails, however, and it's pretty close to the size of Mark's Bosch bag.
If you measure all the way across the bag -- from outer edge to outer edge -- the width is 8-inches. The useable/inside width, on the other hand, is closer to 7-1/8 inches, which is pretty close to Mark's number.
If you measure the width of your cross-cut rail, you should get a pretty good idea about whether or not the Mafell guide rail bag will work out for you.
I hope this helps, Red

Thanks Red and Mark. I think it would be too wide for the cross-cut rail, unfortunately. Might still pick one up for all my other rails - I still keep them in the box for storage and it is a pain to take them in and out.

Keeping guide rails in the Mafell bag is a great way to hang the rails up without adversely affecting the rails themselves...and, considering the cost of importing them, cosmetic protection is a nice ancillary benefit.

Hey Red Buying another plastic box for a power tool especially for the Kss 80 was making my left eye twitch........pure will power to not hit the order button . With luck , a Hilti soft sided bag from a tool purchase was a perfect fit for the Kss80 saw . he saw and saw guides fit really well ,the sides of the hilti bag are padded .

Overcome, adapt, improvise...right, Joe. When you get a minute or two, would you give me few measurements of that Hilti bag?
I suppose measuring the length & width of the base, the depth (from partially-closed zipper to base) and the length & width of the open "mouth" would do me very well. We don't own any Hilti stuff, you see, so I'll have to search for a poor man's substitute.

The Hilti bag has these measurement of........width 12 inches.......length 16 inches and height of 12 inches . With just the saw inside the bag ,can be fully zipped closed .
These style of softsided bags are available in many places , Duluth trading ,home depot ,lowes most good hardware stores .

I ordered my KSS 80. Are we sure the Tanos/Systainer boxes don't fit the saw? Most of my containers are Systainer so it would be nice to have them match and lock together.
Thanks

Thanks The saw will not fit in a Tanos plastic box , tried all sizes and the saw is too big , checkmax . Congrats on a fine tool purchase .
