In an attempt to shed some more light on the Starmix vaccuums I did a littel research. This is what I call the 1st generation and was licensed to just about every tool company. A few examples: It can be upgraded with a systainer docking plate. Mafell & Metabo sell these. These are what I call the 2nd generation, and is still licensed to quite a few other brands: These no longer have a systainer adapter plate. And in 2013 StarMix came out with their iPulse model that looks the same as the gen2, but has all new internals. See the "can it break" youtube series below: Can it break series: (They try to present it with a whiff of humor, but it's pretty impressive stuff, really!) I really wanted one of these iPulse models and contacted Starmix if there was a systainer adapter plate. They got back to me with a negative, but apparently they are working on one for 2014. I hope this info was useful to you and if nothing else maybe the vids put the occasional smile on your face

We have the newer ISP 1435 ARDL with the EWS supplies which includes the 5m/35mm hose, we bought an an additional 5m/27mm hose. We have it since a few weeks. Bought it in their industrial selling in reichenbach near stuttgart with 20% off (500€ without VAT incl. the second hose and some adaptors).
They will bring a systainer dock and (finaly!!!) someting to store the hose on the vac in 2014. A starmix product manager wrote this in a german tool forum.
So far the vac does a great job for us, the filter cleaning is very good with dust of all kind (exept. hair etc, here you should use a filter bag or clean the 2 filters with compressed air.
If you have questions or need pics/vids just ask me!

Excellent to get confirmation on this. Looks like I have a new vac to purchase in the coming months The only reason I got a Protool is systainer storage, but I like the suction and auto cleaning on the Starmix much better. I've heard Mafell has also been looking for some new vacs. I wonder if they just waited for Starmix to finalize their systainer adapter or if they're going to go with someone else...

Nice vacs. Were the gen2 self cleaning, or just the new ipulse models? Amazon has the Metabo self cleaner version for $500. Seems that except for the lack of house garage and systainer latch, it's a far better deal than the CT36AC.

Seems that except for the lack of house garage and systainer latch, it's a far better deal than the CT36AC. Both, the new Starmix ISP series and the "older" ISC -series (still produced for Mafell, metabo, hitachi etc.) are self cleaning. The new ISP-iPulse series has 2 filters witch are cleaned only if needed (sensors measuring the pressure before an after the filters to detect if the filters are dirty and self cleaning is needed). The self cleaning is done during work without reducing the power as you can see in this video (site is german only but vid is both engl+german). The cleaning is explained starting at 1:30. starmix.de/ipulse/?recent_works=pcleanfilm-de

We bought the new Starmix ISP 1435 ARDL iPulse a few weeks ago. I also ordered the Mafell Systainer dock and put it on the Vac yesterday. As the dock is built for the ISC series I had to modify it a little (pictures in 2. and 3. following post). All you need is a little saw and a cutter knife. I' ve done the work within 30 mins without having an idea if and how it could work. The result works perfekt, its very stable cause the dock is mounted with 3 4.5 mm screws and sits on 5 points on the vac. You can easily sit on it. Mounting a systainer works as it should. And you can carry the vac with the included handle 2. The holes in the dock are fitting perfect to store the tubes of the vac (need to make some pictures of it 2 the next days). sorry picture quality isnt that good, made with iphone
