What turns me off about the FoG is the constant chitter about how many systainers folk own, what tool they've bought today etc. I don't mind showing off stuff i like and bought, such as the BST, but i'm not in a pissing contest with anyone. But due to the fact that it is a much larger forum, it's easier to get answers fast. i hope, we'll double in size/registered users, so one doesn't have to wait to get an answer, but otherwise i think this is a cracking forum. And i luv the 'chaos'!

And i luv the 'chaos'! I have a quick look at the FOG from time to time as there are still some Festools on my shopping list... there seems to be a lot of retired folk there who have too much time on their hands quibbling about the alignment of some tool down to the merest fractions of an inch... sigh... ... I feel the guys here are more professionals - less time to put into a forum, just come here when they need to. Plus of course Mafell are a rarer tool than a Festool - and with the latest price fixing (sorry, price rises) going on, I can't see the user base here rising dramatically.

I really like this forum and find lots of great content. Love the pictures and videos of tools in action and the fact that we can be truly unbiased about any comments and tools we discuss. I agree that Mafell is less penetrated in the market so fewer folks to participate in the forum. But, it seems to be growing slowly. Hopefully more people will discover this space and start to participate. So, thanks to all the member here that contribute and make this what it is.

If Mafell could be more competive on pricing, warranties, and availability of product more people would buy and participate. It's hard to justify purchasing without being able to see and handle the tools.

More traffic? Really? Do you really NEED more Neanderthal knuckle-draggers like me blathering on with a dubious combination of wildly inaccurate misinformation and moronic navel-gazing?
Oh well, if you insist....

One thing I think really would be nice is the ability to upload pics to the forum, but I appreciate that a free forum isn't geared towards hosting a hundred megabytes or so of combined user's image data, just a few meg's of text.
We can embed youtube links, and images hosted elsewhere, but I'm disinclined to sign-up for an image-hosting service that deletes my images after an arbitrary period, and thereby wrecks forum posts that reference those remotely-hosted images.
It does mean there is a lot less image-rich content on this forum than there otherwise might be, as people like to show what they mean, or what they have accomplished, with a pic or two, and if potential newcomers see that this is not possible, then they may feel less-inclined to join.
Additionally, as others have said, Mafell just isn't as widespread as fanboy-Festool. I couldn't give two hoots about whether Mafell is widespread or not. I choose each and every tool on its own merits, which means many different manufacturers in my tool collection. I only very recently joined the Mafell ranks, with an MT55CC, but I have known about it for a couple of years, having taken the time to actually research what the best track saw on the market is, rather than following the crowd or believing the glossy marketing of the green koolaid. It seems a majority of people don't take the time to research their tools as much as a minority do, and since Mafell do not market their tools very hard (not internationally, anyway), it's hardly surprising that Mafell is not as widespread as it otherwise might be...
Since posting on this forum, just recently, I've been thankful for some genuinely useful responses from fellow tradespeople, so I don't feel this forum is failing in it's aim to support Mafell-users, and I appreciate it being here!
Cheers, all.

I don't use any third party site to post images here.
