Regarding this forum I don't use many forums and post very little on them but I find this one easy to use and find things but as I say I don't use many but thanks to those that put this one together

FWIW I agree with checkmax. Please keep the categories as they are.

Compared to other forums that I participate on, this forum's participants reflect the low quantity but high quality tools Mafell manufactures. I appreciate the lack of chaff I have to wade through to get to a valued comment and look forward when I see new comments. Which is why I limit what I post!

Before this forum there was only a few videos in German showing the tools in use and the catalog. Now theres people to ask questions and many images and videos. I was one of the first buyers of the MT55 in NA and all I had to decide from was a Single page from the Mafell Catalog(in German).
As far as participation goes many members are professionals and post when they can. Thats why theres more participation in the winter.

I agree with mick about concerns about tools going missing.
I also want to say that finding this forum has helped me understand what's available in the current tool market since quality tools get so little coverage in mass media. I've been a member of the Fine Woodworking community since they started publishing magazines and even they are very slow to recognize new entries into the tool marketplace.
This is a very well organized forum and I for one appreciate the work you people put into maintaining this site.

Really you have yourselves to thank. It's your contributions that makes this what it is. How old are we now, jalvis?

I don't mind the number of categories - in fact I think it makes it easier to find topics of interest. However I still think it would be nice to be able to click on a button and immediately see all the threads with new posts, regardless of category.

I like the categories with all the tools listed also. My reasoning: Mafell tools aren't very popular but they are quite expensive. When I consider adding another tool I like to be able to click on the specific tool I am hoping to research to decide if I will value it more than the money it costs.
I agree that it would be good to have more participation, seems to come with time. I would like to participate more but am always extremely busy.
Best point: Because of this small informal forum it is way easier to accurately research Mafell tools than it was 2 years ago. And even better it is completely end user experience from people with no sales motives or odd devotion. I doubt there were any big goals in starting the forum but it seems to fill the role of providing specific information about the various tools.

Go to bottom of home page under Statistics and click "recent posts" - all new posts regardless of thread will be listed chronologically

Questa makes an excellent point, exposure. You don't hear much about Mafell, and when you do it's typically regarding their timber framing tools. I've been a carpenter for over 30 years, I appreciate good tools. Up until last year the only Mafell kit I'd seen was a few tools for timber framing and a duo-dowel. I was looking for a jig saw to replace my Trion. Demoed a Carvex but wasn't impressed. Saw the now censored P1CC video on the FOG, googled Mafell and came here. What I saw blew my mind. I kinda think Mafell doesn't care too much about the NA market. If someone, in this case Timberwolf wants to rep their product, than they're fine with that, otherwise they don't care. But, what do I know, I could be completely wrong.
John I bolded your text above as the double entendre was either subtle or unintended - but I like it. I saw that video when looking at track saws. Things are even more dire in Australai as there is no Mafell importer. I started out ~16 months ago needing a HEPA vacuum and their was a shop we went into that had festool. The Mrs said yeah let's get it. In the end it was cheaper to get the Mafell out of Germany and as the CT-26 is in 240v having the Mt55 and the P1cc in 220/240 makes sense if I end up in the US. (I'll just run off a drier outlet if I need to). I ordered the P1cc a few minutes ago. And got the Bosch rails ordered today as well. Planning the gates... Looking at wood tomorrow. Randal
