Not that there are not people that will crusade for FT (or any other group), but it may also be that the "-" hypen gets removed by the S/W by default, rather than intentional.

That's unfortunately not the case. The whole text is re-worded, domain, subdomain, domain suffix, everything. It's a pretty obvious attempt to direct traffic away from this site.

I figured it was, but now we know for sure. I guess if FT is paying the bills for their forum, or if the forum is run by FT distributors then it is not surprising.
Two points for knowing the movie where the main character says something like "... the perfect prison where the prisoners have become their own guards."

It's been like that since we started.implemented by Shane. Something about not promoting a competing product. Don't matter to me

I actually post on the FOG often but, I'm not married to Festool products just the ones I appreciate like the Domino Joiner. I have been in countless discussion on the FOG where people post that once you have a track saw you don't need a table saw. I say for a furniture maker like myself, that is utter nonsense. But, I haven't been banned over there. I have found other forums much more biased such as the "Woodworking Talk" where you get criticized for suggesting that you buy an expensive tool or machine (when you can buy from "Harbor Freight"). I like this forum and look forward to contributing as well as getting good information. Jack Agree with you and others 100%, FOG is loaded with hobbyists and tool collectors (hoarders). Considering their domination of FOG it's probably better safety wise for those FOG members to believe that a track saw negates the need for a tablesaw. Ignorance is bliss.

I have a bunch of festool and in general like their product, most of my stuff is well worn as in I bought it a long time ago and it still works. I was on FOG long before Festool took it over (member 389 or something like that) but it is very hard to go there anymore....maybe I am just having a bad day

I do like the FOG and a lot of folx are real friendly and helpful to a hobbyist like me. The only thing i find somewhat irritating is the constant chitter about buying stuff/having this many systainers/showing off your gear. But as i said: The benefits far outweight the bother.

I saw this fellow on FOG yesterday. www.lairdubois.fr/creations/1242-bureau-d-angle.html?referer=1&displayRedirectionWarning=0I was impressed The running the saw in climb mode was interesting.

The more time I spend on there, the more I realize that half of the advice given is bad advice. Granted, there's often more than one way to skin a cat, but some people are rather naïve and can't see past the 3-4 Festool tools they own, and parrot it back like they're getting paid to promote their products.

... and parrot it back like they're getting paid to promote their products. It is interesting from a psychology angle. There is: - Sharing what one thinks is good. - Belief in ones decisions and justifying them. However at some point it is like the lunatics running the asylum when people self police themselves to the point where they lock themselves up with the keys that they are holding.
