Hi All I just spent a bit of time with my Erika in my shop doing a scale timber frame. I have to say even having 2 cabinet saws and a radial arm saw and a Kapex next to it. bringing the Erika next my bench for small cut offs an trims without moving was a great time saver as well as a real pleasure to use making accurate cutting awesome fun. Saving up for more accessories sliding table #1 router ext#2 MFA fence#3....... ... ... . I am thinking I will not need a Kapex, or radial arm saw will an Erika. (As I do not need one much, that is probably right in any case) Since you have both or all three, what sayeth thou?

Ghostfist Id strongly recommend te sliding table. It makes the saw much more enjoyable and expands your range of cuts greatly. I originally bought the saw with the slider and fell in love. I then broke my sliding table brackets and had to use it without the slider, not nearly as enjoyable. I've since bought new brackets and am now back in love. Consider it!

Hi GhostFist!
I'm LOVING my Erika 70! I'm way too busy these days to take pics or post about it much, hopefully this Winter?.....
For starters, the wheel kit is a MUST!!
The MFA is great for cutting LOTS of miters, but it you're mostly going to be ripping and crosscutting at 90 degrees, with the occasional mitered cut, then the Universal fence works great.
I DO suggest looking at the 1m Fence for the MFA (203396) (works just fine with the Universal Fence). It comes with a flip stop allowing you to make shorter repeated cuts, and when used with the Clamping Device (038294), it gives you a full-length, rock-solid ripping fence.
This should get you off to the races, and like you said you can always add the bells and whistles as your budget allows.

Ya looking at paring down the initial purchase then throwing on bells and whistles later. Good advice!

Nice GhostFist,
What you order will depend on what you want to do with the saw. Definitely get the extension kit w/ wheels, it makes moving the saw easier. If you can, get the MFA, two extensions, the telescopic rod, and the leg w/ sheet metal support. This will allow you to be mobile and cross cut 8' stock w/ stops. If you can't afford that, get one of the MFA extensions for now, it works with the universal fence & will give you a meter of cross cut w/ a stop and can be used as a long rip fence.
As is, the saw has a 10" rip capacity. You'll want to get a pair of the supporting rails and probably the extension/router table. I have the rip fence and don't think much of it. Do get the clamping piece #038294 you'll want this for ripping with an extrusion on whatever fence you end up using for ripping.
Get whatever blades you need to match for work, the stock blade is pretty good, maybe start with that unless you know you'll be ripping thick hardwoods or cross cutting a lot of chip prone sheet goods.
I own, but have not used the sliding table, so I can't comment on it.

I figure i'll still be using my mighty mt55 for bigger sheet goot processing and the erika for smaller rips and cross cuts at the start. Waiting for the wolf to get back to me to confirm order.

I will also add to my Erika in the future. I started with the MFA and saw, and shall add the extension rails and sliding table over the coming months.
It is a great choice GhostFist. I am sure that you are going to enjoy it.

I have had my Erika 70 for just under 2 years used in shop when multiple set ups where needed. Its as accurate as my laguna and powermatic cabinet saws. And onsite it rocks!! Gave my bosch portable to my son. Would recomend this saw to anyone one of my fav Mafell tools. Have a great day

ha! I'll snap some pics in the mornin (I SWEAR IT!) But initial impressions are really good just from a set up and fiddling with the knobs experience. Again, a rugged build, really stable and simple set up. I was scared it was pooched when I first saw the box, it's taken some dings in shipping. Was more concerned when I opened the box as I felt there should have been better packing in there(I worked in a shipping company in my youth, I know how stuff gets processed) But the packing did the trick, not a scratch. table is perfectly flat. Blade is set properly. I might have to tweak the riving knife ever so slightly but I doubt I should get much resistance. I don'thave any hardwood really to try with it, but I'll see what wee test cuts I can make. I got a wee side job coming up that should use my lamello, my new baby erika here,my mt55 and the p1cc is coming along just because it does everything! Gonna be fun. Anyone want to buy a Domino?
