Makes sense...it looks like a really nice set-up. I totally want one...I have a full blown cabinet saw now and I like it, but it is a total space hog and I have to muscle it into position every time I want to use it...the Erika really seems like it would cut down on space and you could configure it for the task at hand, which is nice. I do not need to be mobile all that often, but I see the appeal of 110V.

I got in the extensions, extension plate, rip fence and 48 tooth blade today! The Erika is like a leggo set, a lot of different ways to use the extensions. I took the forrest blade out and tried the Mafell 48T, surprising to me the Mafell blade showed zero chip out compared to the Forrest which had a small amount. The rip fence is rock solid. I also got in a festool 50mm hose that has two rotating ends so fits perfectly to the ct36 and to the Erika. Attachments:

Does the top dust collector get in the way very much? How is dust collection on the Erika?

In general I think the dust collection is very good to excellent. The top hose CAN get in the way. What Mafell includes is slightly too short sometimes. in those case you can cap it. I will look into something else, size is a bit odd the 27mm festool wont fit, 36 too big.... The 50mm for the bottom works great. Overall I am VERY happy with the Erika and this is the only forum where I can say that without my sanity being questioned.

In my mind an Erika is one of the wisest investments one can make when you're looking for a quality portable table saw. It's a lot more sane to invest in quality equipment that retains it's value even many years after purchase, rather than to buy a cheaper alternative, which can never quite satisfy you. It's been my experience I end up spending tons of additional money to make up for the defects of the lower quality product. That's way more insane in my opinon Enjoy your new "toy" questa, I'm sure you've made a lot of guys here quite jealous again, me included

I have the Festool equivalent and I hate it. Wish I had bought the Mafell. A much better choice as the precisio is really not as stable.

stofke72, you should sell it and upgrade to an Erika. There are tons of people who almost worship the Festool name, especially in our lovely BeNeLux:) Shouldn't take long and you'll probably still get a good price for it

Congrats on the new Erika. Hey, I will never criticize anyone for making tool purchases or question one's sanity. If it makes you happy, improves your work quality, speed, efficiency, safety, etc... then it was a great investment. We all have different ways for getting from point A to point B and it sounds like the Erika is a great way to help you along the journey.
What is the actual size of the hose connection? Odd that the two common metric sizes do not fit.

Used the Erika for the first time on a generator. Seemed to operate fine. Needed to hold the on button slightly longer to get the saw to run. Also if someone started up another saw off the generator and the electric dropped then it would switch off. The generator was a basic Clarke do a really cheap generator

Hi All I just spent a bit of time with my Erika in my shop doing a scale timber frame. I have to say even having 2 cabinet saws and a radial arm saw and a Kapex next to it. bringing the Erika next my bench for small cut offs an trims without moving was a great time saver as well as a real pleasure to use making accurate cutting awesome fun. Saving up for more accessories sliding table #1 router ext#2 MFA fence#3....... ... ... .

I'm about ready to pull the trigger on an erika 70. What "must haves" should I include with mystery initial order? Was thinking the set of wheels the multi fence, a good ripping blade and a fine cut blade.
Help a ghost out here.

That sounds about right. Not sure if you have maybe a couple of roller stands. Preferably the ball bearing type instead of the straight roller kind which I have. Need to change sometime.

Extensions, the sliding table and that rip fence will be for a later round of money burning. Or do you feel like the rip fence should be bought sooner than later?
