Anyone with an MT55 have any wear on the bottom of the shoe or in the groove? Especially interested if anyone has prolonged use with an MT55? My TS75 tabs are wearing and I will likely need a new base at some point. The anodized aluminum rib on the rail is causing wear and I wanted to see if this was similar on the Mafell or not. Thanks Prolonged... no. Basically a few solid weekends, and a few handfuls of partial days working the saw non-stop. The base looks "teflonized", or like "porcelain coated"... Everywhere EXCEPT the machined groove where the tracks rail goes (anodised rib), which is about 3-mm wide. I can see no apparent wear, but it is not used daily for 8 hours straight for years on end.

I'm wondering if Mafell will give the MT55CC a facelift anytime soon, not that it needs one it's still the best out here but the platforms going on 7 years old any thoughts on this anyone? It would be awesome to see the P1 get a facelift too I would really like a light on it but I'm just nitpicking I guess.

I don't see the need for it, personally. How long have the old skil worm drive saws Been on the market? If it ain't broke don't fix it I say. Even without a light the p1cc still out performs any competitors. Holmz likes headlamps

This is what give me the shtz with the green tools and most cars. One goes in to get a car with a list of things that they want like 4 seats, economical, etc. They come with with SatNav, Blue tooth, power assist... One can put lipstick on a pig, but in the end it is still a pig.

It's smartphone syndrome. People now expect a new model annually, wether it's needed or not.

... Holmz likes headlamps ^It is the only time I am accused of looking bright.^ The black diamond (TM) and other LED jobs are good.

I'm sure this must've been asked a few times here on the board, but I can't seem to find the appropriate keyword to locate the answer, so... here goes:
The TS55 REQ will cut within approx. 12mm of a skirting board, if run along the floor, up against the skirting.
I know the MT55CC will not run that close, since the extraction spigot protrudes from the diecast blade housing more than it does on the Festool.
Nonetheless, what is the actual figure for the MT55CC, in this regard? 15mm? 20mm?
Can anyone accurately tell me how close the MT55CC will cut to a skirting board?
Thanks!

Not on the mm, but about 30mm.

30mm?
Ouch.
Not a total deal-breaker, and I realise the MT55CC can't best the TS55 REQ on absolutely all counts, but I'm surprised (and a little disappointed) Mafell's engineers didn't make it at least within <20mm.

I've never used the Festool rails - I like the upper T-slot, in terms of allowing the attachment of a variety of objects, but I have seen people complaining about poor retention of the splinter-guard strip, and the joiner-bars being a pain to set-up, as opposed to the Mafell/Bosch FSN joining plate, which inherently ensures a straight connection:
I presume that's the reason you don't enjoy using the Festool guide rails?

Why did Mafell design this with no front handle? Does anyone know? Not that I use it with my TS75, but I do from time to time. A little late for a quote, but I guess you and others still might be curious. On Mafell Saws you put the second hand on the base. The base of the MT55 has a konkave region in the front where one can put his hand at. Other saws have a knob at the front of the base. I did my first bevel cut with a TS 55 R and tried the second handle. I did not really like it. I have to admitt that I realized the lack of the handle of the MT55 quite late. Anyway supporting the base feels much better to me. Especially with bevel cuts. Note that some Sawas bevel to 60°. Here I expect tha knob at the base even more practical then a second handle at the motor. It's a shame that the MT55's cutline moves away from the splinter guard when beveling. But I guess the eaysiest way is to "calibrate" and then take the offset into account when marking the cut line.

New blades available on Amazon for the Mt55. Key blades offers a 162mm x 24 and a 162mm x 48. The 48 tooth is $60 shipping and the 24 tooth is $55 shipped. I’ve been using a Key blade on my Kss40 for a month and have had great results. I’m pretty excited about these blades and the price point.
