Thanks again jonathan - appreciate the time / effort you're putting in. Rather be 'locked down' than see the site suffocated by 'covid like' internet roaming bots, 'bad actors' etc.
alvychippy: You've summed up the dilemma for sites like MUF. Unfortunately, I'm one of those guys who do not (and will not) use social-media - yet, increasingly, feel left out in the cold. On rare occasions get #1 son to check something out for me; or, even flog tools on Face Market (is that what it's called?)
Need to check those archive links!

Ok, the Ghostfist is a ghost himself on the board he started. I am way out of touch with what may serve as an alternative to proboards. It was used because it was free. I decided on a free board because i didnt wan't money to factor in to content. If any of you have survived the drought of admin activity (completely my fault) I'm open to suggestions on how to continue the board and recruit more moderation, mainly to eliminate spam. In the past i had appointed moderators who wanted too much control on what was discussed on this forum, my vision was to keep it relevant to woodworking/construction equipment as used by those in the feild without bias, fanboyism, ego, or corporate involvement. So if anyone is left and would like to be nominated for such powers i leave it to those of you still on here to put forward who you think would best suit this role. Perhaps all who have remained active in discussions over the years in absence of regular administration should all be made moderator(?) Just a thought. I'll try to check in to see if there's any life or interest left in this corpse. Ghost

In my opinion span hasn't been an issue for several months. Someone, jonathan perhaps, cleaned things up. Currently there doesn't seem to be much need for moderation.
The Mafell Users Forum is the best source of information on Mafell tools currently available in my humble opinion. It would be a shame to loose it.
If it's not broken, don't fix it. My two cents.

I agree, the spam problem seems to have been resolved. It is a good resource for Mafell - interesting how many members connect to 'have a look' without liking, commenting, etc... gives the impression of an unused forum. I guess things move on with time, I am not sure where people go to look for Mafell related information, Facebook, Instagram?.. maybe in these complicated times, dropping money on expensive tools is no longer a priority.
But one thing I know is that when I am looking for information on any out of the ordinary solution, from tools to solar and anything in between, forums in general give some of the best answers across the internet... so yes, it would be a great shame to lose this resource.

Im honestly amazed that it's still going. Professionally I know operate as a consultant in film production, so I'm not on the tools for work anymore. I do take a peek at what's being offered every now and then, just to see where innovation is taking us. Liked some of the updates to the erika. I don't know if you caught wind of the festool systainer table saw but I haven't been impressed by anything festool in years, personally. Dhaper origin caught my attention recently, even though its been around for a while, with it's library, plate and bench thinga-ma-whats it. HP is rolling out a robot that will print full sized building layouts. What's tickling everyone's fancy lately? I hope its not another scribe tool

Just saw your post and thought the jig was up…
For me it’s more about getting better test gear, thermograph etc. right now. Feel like most mfg’s are underperforming / still behind on innovation because of covid so I’m not buying much because not impressed. Still pondering the zeta p2 cordless while never finding a use for it.
I did notice the little festool saw-in-a-box and wasn’t as put off as some. But I have questions about reliability of electronics & just how robust it will be. Either way the price will probably be a barrier due to amount of use it would get.
MUF is/was a good tool forum, have to say thanks for starting it as it led me in some good directions. I know it’s open for all tools but don’t know how to expand on that. Other tool forums are hit/miss.

Festool systainer saw looks pretty neat, will be pricey though, and no mains adapter puts me off.
Not seeing too much innovation but more evolution - like the TS60K - I would definitely buy an MT55 that went on a KSS rail.
Eyeing up a G2 Shaper for next year - I think it is one of those toys (sorry tools!) that once you get used to using it, you find uses for it, rather than buying it to do a specific task. The whole kit does not seem excessively priced when you look at what you get and what it can do.
Re: the forum - maybe under other tools, add a few headings for main brands - there is already a Lamello one. Seems to be a few people who come here for Starmix and Metabo/CAS information.
