Can't they at least block posts from unregistered users?.. it would be a start. Does it take long to block a user?.. delete spam posts?.. etc Not sure if trying to get admins back onboard (plan 1) will do anything good, perhaps we are aught to go back to the plan 2 - Ask ProBoards to moderate and/or make one or few/ any of us (mods/admins)? BTW Mafell Official didn't respond...

I've messaged ghostfist a couple of times, via facebook. Can do so again, do you want me to pass something on?

Yes please! Something along the lines of "much spam, please come back, and / or make some more admins to help. Thanks!"

Should be cleared up a little now. I've made some changes that should prevent guest accounts from posting from now on.

Thank you jonathan. Besides hoping for massive reduction in blatant spam -am also hoping for a reduction in what, I consider, slightly 'odd' posts, which the OP never follows up on; despite 'honest' members doing their best to help by way of good advice / suggestions.

After the recent spam-defense changes I can no longer view threads when visiting the MUF Home Page unless I log in. Not really a problem for me but it leaves me curious about a couple of things:
Do others see the same home page sans threads too, if not logged in?
If so then I wonder how likely new visitors are to engage with the site.

Hi Kraft. Same for me. Agree with what you wrote. As someone who reads a lot of posts - but doesn't post hardly ever, I understand where you're coming from. But, my word, it feels good to not have all the spam etc. Be great if can be changed so can read threads - but if not...

Whilst you both have very valid point about ability to view, prior to registering and posting one-self, having clean board is a bliss. In general these days forums (boards) turning less popular to social media platforms, niche as to say in a niche of of activity (woodcraft), with a exclusive (niche) brand of tools is bit of a miracle, most of us (rightfully) concerned to one day loose the whole knowledge database... Few interesting pages on a subject of some loading up pages for archiving, some already are etc archive.vn/archive.st/web.archive.org/archive.org/

Noted. I'll take a dive in the settings over the weekend to see if there are options to tune the visitor privileges or not. For now I've just tried to button everything up more to ward off the bots.
