Hi guys I know the latest makita 18v brushless router /trimmer seems to be getting great reviews over here “uk” but a makita product I love and would compliment the trimmer perfectly is the 18v lxt planer I think it’s model dkp 180 . I can’t remember last time I used either of my two Festool electric planers , for hanging doors it’s brilliant I bought it body only it’s not that expensive doesn’t come with a dust bag but you can get one as an accessory , dust collection is very good one of my wouldn’t be without tools now for sure .

I saw an older version of the TPT 1934 for sale by private party at a good price but it was silver and their current one is black. So I called TPT to ask if there was a difference and they stopped me right in my tracks as I got an earful of how they don’t make the ‘silver’ one and it’s patent infringement etc. I explained that this was for sale by an individual and they realized it was one of their original that’s since been improved / replaced with the black anodized version. If it is patent infringement (at least in usa) then it’s pretty ballsy of Virutex to knock it off almost identically. Anyways, I asked why there’s no carrying case and learned that they are releasing one in about 2 months along with a couple of other new accessories. I also see that buying direct is about as good a price as you’re going to get. I’ve been interested in the tool for it’s ability to drill shelve pin holes quickly and also it’s versatility. I’m wondering though how much blow out you get using a hand held drill as opposed to router bit into melamine. Anyone use one of these and do you have a preference for drill tip/point type?

well now I'm really cornfused, different online stores use photos from Virutex for selling TPT and vice versa. Amazon/ebay uk/de won't ship PMT111 to usa. Can't find Virutex PMT111 on amazon or ebay north america but it's seems you can order direct from Virutex New York (usa website) and you get extensions included all for $199 +15 ship.
With the TPT you have to add the extensions (TP1935) for a total kit price of $279 + ship.
Wonder what quality difference there is, if any.

ok, sorted it out... TPT makes the silver one for Virutex, who apparently bought quite a few. It's TPT's original version. There is someone on Amazon that uses TPT photo's / videos / name but sells a plastic version they make look metal in photos.
In two months TPT will offer a promotion on a 'kit'. Kit will include everything the 1935 comes with, with the addition of a quality blow molded carry case & a ruler accessory that allows for up to 42" drawers. The promo price will be $299.

For anyone interested I see that Häfele sells both TPT models for $159-basic & $256-extensions respectively. (ship is about $11 each). Best price I've seen.
