Hi gang!
I wanted to start a discussion about how we transport our Erika saws and all of the accessories.
Since I bought my Erika 70 I've been transporting most of the smaller accessories in a Systainer 5, and the longer fences and table extensions above the saw in my van on a shelf. I recently bought a Pelican 1750 case, and have found it to be a great solution for storing and transporting my longer Erika accessories.
Here is everything, minus the sliding table parts. As you can see, I store the rip fence with the aluminum extrusion for the standard fence on the saw.
I always travel with a Universal Blade, Fine Blade, and a aluminum cutting blade (from a TS-75). The extra blades store nicely in the Systainer 5, plus the MFA fence, the standard miter gauge, and a push block. In the micro Systainer I store two clamping elements and two flip stops.
And finally, to the Pelican case. I bought this a few months ago and only recently finally got around to trying it out. The Pelican 1750 ships with three pieces of foam, two in the bottom and one in the lid. For now I simply removed the middle section, longer term I'll assess whether I want to cut the foam, get custom foam, etc... As it is I can store my table extension, 800mm table extension profiles, a regular 1m MFA fence, plus a 1m MFA fence with the extension rod, with room left for some of the other Erika accessories. I also have 1m table extensions, but it was a snug fit to get them in without cutting the foam, so I'll cross that bridge at a later time.
The sliding table and supporting beam are just so oddly shaped that I just have spots for them in the van. Longer term I'm curious to see if the MFA, standard fence and other accessories might fit in a different Pelican case, but for now the Sys 5 works great.
I hope this helps anybody looking for a secure way to transport their Erika parts.
