Does anybody know how I can get the new kss50 18m? I'm in Southern California. There has to be a way. Josh I will be visiting Timberwolf Tools the first week in September. Based on a phone conversation I had with them a few weeks ago, it sounds like by the time I visit there should be some answers regarding acquiring cordless Mafell tools in North America. I'll keep you posted.

Germany can import one for you but the charger is220. A 110 metabo charger will work if 110 is a must. Batteries work with either

I work primarily in Beverly Hills. Live in Pasadena. I have metabo ltx 18v tools so charging isn't a problem. I found Trade Counter Online out of England that is shipping me one. Should be here around the end of September. Can't wait.

There's quite a few German & Austrian sites offering both the battery equipped & "pure" versions of the KSS 50 18M Bl, so they're presumably in stock.
So, does anybody actually have one yet? What's it like? How does it rip 38-50mm hardwood? 40mm ply?
I'd seriously like one myself, but there's absolutely no freakin' way I'm spending what to me is a month's income on some untried & tested piece of what seems to be to date only vapourware, or worse yet on a tool that may very well be barely capable of handling hardwood.
I've had 3 cordless saws to date: admittedly they're all pretty old models, but they were all to a man relatively useless, even my 36v one (which I still have) simply can't handle the type of tasks that 240v corded models can accomplish with consummate ease. So please, if there's anybody out there who has actually used one then please provide some unbiased, warts and all feedback.

Just got an email from Tobias. My kss50 should ship this week! I've been looking at the Festool HKC55, but this saw has caught my eye. I'm interested in your purchase, and would like to know how you are handling the battery and charger issue. Also, what is your choice of blade? Please post your initial impressions on how the saw works for you! Also, feel free to contact me via PM to let me know what you got in the kit and your final cost with exchange rate. Thanks!
