I have been trying to resist the urge but I think it is time to get the mongrel of a mess in the garage sorted out. Currently there is the old kitchen cabinet gear in the garage, but the door are half falling off and the shelving does not work well for storing tools etc.
So thinking about cabinet doors and shelfs on the bottom, and ikea cubes which are 330 mm wide and high and 380-mm deep. The systainers are ˜300 deep x400 (w) x 110mm (h). So maybe 400 deep and shove the systainers in sideways.
Looks like rooglue may be good for gluing melamine. Considering white melamine in maybe 18-mm and banging it together with Lamello Tenso. I have not used glue nor Tensos before.
The base will probably be on the order of 600 deep as I have things like the Kress drill in a 400x500-mm box.
The wall is 2380 (h) by 2500-mm wide.
I will probably get the sheets cut at the lumber place for $1/cut and get the young miss across the street to glue on the edge banding.
And maybe some shelf pin holes in the bottom section for adjustable shelves. (Doors can come later.)
General questions are: Which glue? Should I just attach it to the brick wall with anchors? And should I do the top 1/2 separate with french cleats? ... Or as a big installation? Anything else I should be mindful of?
