Do all the kss saws work on the F guide rails? And do they all have different cross cut rails?

I can only speak for the 300/40. They will work on the regular rails but only for perpendicular cuts. No leveling. Accessories for the 300 are identical to the 40 but will not work for any other saw with the exception of the flex rail, which will work with any saw for 90° cuts but will cut away from the rail for beveled cuts. The 300/40 Las rail will not work for any other saw

The kss 400, kss60 and kss 80 will all work with the F rails at any angle.

Are kss rails interchangeable between the 400, 60, and 80?

If you go to a particular KSS saw on the Mafell site, then accessories, click on the accessory rail number, then click on 'is an accessory of' it will tell you... For example, 204378 770mm KSS track is for KSS400, MF26 & KSS60. Shame all the KSS saws don't use the same tracks...

Are kss rails interchangeable between the 400, 60, and 80? The 400 & 60 use the same kss rails and the 80 has its own kss rail. To alter the rail length to shorter rails would probably require a new bungee cord and a bit of machining to alter the fixing for the bungee cord.

Shortening your kss rail would reduce your miter capabilities. There is no way I would want a 400 kss rail on my 40 and I'm sure it's the same the other way around

It would be nice to have the 770mm available for the KSS40 as a 2nd rail...

Maybe but built for the 40's smaller size

Yesh you also have to remember that the 300 / 40 are designed to be light and well balanced in a convient package

The fact the 400, 60, and the mf26 (?). Are compatible is enough. The 80 is for bigger work and the 300/40 is for portability

festool gives three crosscut rail length options. it would be nice if mafell did the same. over all i like the kss400 better then the festool hk55. My knuckles do not rub on the kss400 like they do on the hk55. But the option of not having to tote around a longer rail then needed attached to the saw is a nice option on the festool. I like options.

I was able to shorten one rail up pretty easy.
