for the kss300/kss40 I think a flexi rail capable of ripping an 8ft sheet of ply would be useful,does anyone else agree? I suppose the main concern would be the 'foldability' of such a rail and its folded size,i was thinking that if it could be folded into an oblong that it might fit in a midi systainer with the saw nesting in the centre,if there was enough interest perhaps we could suggest it to mafell?

I just don't see how it would fold easily. Spring steel tends to spring out atcha. I believe done longer rips by removing the red handle and chasing the track along the cutline. 8' is nice but takes away from the saws portability

I believe done longer rips by removing the red handle and chasing the track along the cutline. 8' is nice but takes away from the saws portability I don't think maximum 'foldability' has been reached with the present 4ft rail but you are right,even it, can give you a whack by springing out if you are not careful,to my way of thinking an 8ft rail with an extra couple of loops would be more portable than two 1.6m hard rails.
