After enjoying the UVA115e so much and liking the sanding screens which say 'by Mirka' I took the plunge on a RO sander. The DEROS 5650, in 230v.
I just plugged it into my 230v 'Au to Euro' cheater and gave it a whirl on some plywood with 150gr. Then retired it awaiting some actual work and considering doing the Neutrik mod.
I test drove one a few weeks ago in a US Woodcraft shop, and was liking it. I got it "Straight outta Finland".

Hyvää on, kaveri..if it was a little cheaper i might have considered it as well. Mainly for its lower center of gravity and because it's finnish..

I have a deros. Great sander apart from blowing up once. Don't see the need for the neutrik on it as it's got a push in lead already. Also if you do do it keep the original lead so you can put it back in or you void the Warrantee.
By sanding screens I guess you mean the abranet. It is a great sandpaper. Really cuts and finishes well and extraction is great. If you don't have one an interface pad is a must to get the best out of it finishing wise.

I was thinking of getting an extra cord as the cord attached on the vac-hose has a Nuetrik on it. But if I am sanding it will be for a while, so I will just work it out. Plus I either need a Au end on it or continue to use the cheater from Au to Euro.
I'll check for interface pad(s).
Have you gone high in grit # or used the polish type stuff?

I am getting my head around the polishes. What kind of "polishing" are you going to do, mate?
I was just checking the link that Jimbo provided and, man, does Mirka get into it or what?

I dunno Red.
They have glass papers and polishes for windows.
But I was thinking more of panels like MDF, but with end-grain balsa and fibreglass face sheets and then spraying on an automotive 2-pac or a lacquer on a veneer and then buffing it up.
