Ironically, this is a piece of equipment that is often overlooked and usually outgunned when discussing power tools but my safety glasses have become indispensable. My problem is, finding ones that stay on my head when I'm looking down and that do not need a strap.
The ergonomics on most glasses has greatly improved from the "60's chemistry set glasses" so now its a matter of finding one's with good hinge tension over the long run. My dewalt glasses start the slide down my nose when bending my head, especially when trying to sight the PC11 in dark conditions. I picked up a pair of Miller safety glasses for wearing under my helmet when welding and so far they're staying put but its usually a few months before the hinges weaken.
Can anyone recommend a strapless, safety glass that has improved hinge technology?

I also wear prescription, but you can buy the same glasses without prescription lenses and you are good to go - I would go to an eye doctor or someplace that sells glasses and get them fitted with protective lenses and shields. Mine do not fall off whatsoever.

I wear Oakley safety glasses, they have a great optical quality to the lenses and fit very well. I find most safety glasses bother my eyes, giving me a mild headache, these don't. I have one clear pair and one tinted pair, I've had them for about 3 years and wear them all day, everyday.

I don't know where you're situated, but over here in Sweden 3M has a lot of the goggle/safety glass market. Their homepage is well worth checking out.

I never have headaches, but years ago, I was wearing blue tinted glasses and when I took them off, I was seeing blue out of one of my eyes...that sort of freaked me out, needless to say, I went back to un-tinted.
A pair of 3m just arrived from amazon, the hinges don't have the tension I was hoping, but they do have a solid friction connection with the foam around the eyes.

Not sure if you can get them where you are, but I use Bollé safety glasses... (known for sports gear glasses) comfortable for all day wear, various styles/colours/tints available, pretty sturdy and not too expensive

Erik I got nothing, sorry.
Question for those who have prescription safety glasses, where do you get them? I've been looking for years without success.

Bolle here as well. 1 x clear, 1 x tinted (smoke). Anti scratch, anti fog and relatively cheap. I've taken to wearing ear plugs, instead of muffs, because I find it uncomfortable wearing the muffs with glasses. Much more comfortable in hot weather, as well.

Those Bolle seem solid, I'll give them try.
Hey Holmz, sometimes I'm the only one laughing in the room.

You'd think so. In the last ten years or so I've been to three different eye docs and walked into several more and no one has them. They all say the same thing - no demand.

That blows. Have you done an online searches for prescription safely glasses? Depending on my environment I have a set of scratch resistant lenses in some standard frames that does the trick for note so heavy dust
