Here's a built in that I finally got installed. The painted components are 25mm MDF, sprayed in satin 'Alabaster'. The timber is recycled Messmate, a local hardwood. Cabinet carcases are 19mm veneered Victorian Ash, solid edge banding. Doors were made by machining the Messmate down to 4mm, then pressing onto both sides of a 12mm MDF core. Then edge banded with 3mm Messmate. Shelves are made up of an 18mm MDF ladder frame, clad both sides with 12mm MDF, then a 4mm veneered MDF face was pressed onto both faces. Front edge is solid 13mm Messmate. LED downlights, Blum soft close hinges, Grass flap fittings. All cabinets were dowelled together with my DD40 - 8mm dowels for the cabinets, 10mm for the painted bookcase surround.
