We've decided to invest in Mafell guide rails, but weren't very impressed with their rail clamping system.
Before we actually spend what represents a large investment to our small business, I wanted to ensure one thing by querying the MUF first ...
Has anyone actually used the Bosch FSN KZW style guide rails clamps to hold Mafell FXXX guide rails in place?
In case I've thrown anyone off with the technical lingo, here's a photo of what I'm asking about:

Yes, and they're much better than the screw clamps.

OK, another stupid hobbyist question.. Those don't look much different than Irwin Quick Grip clamps. Just the part that connects to the rail, which doesn't look hard to manufacture - and QG clamps have removeable jaws.. Am I missing something?

The only substantial difference in design I see is the orientation of grip. I haven't used these clamps yet, but they appear to be operated in the reverse direction. I know this is the old vet coming out in me, but the "trigger guards" suggest that they tighten in the opposite direction, as compared to the typical Irwin style quick grip clamp.

Yes, and they're much better than the screw clamps. What are your thoughts on the Bosch FSN OFA 32 KIT 800, Lincoln?
By any chance, is this how you acquired your Bosch "quick grip" rail clamps?
Either way, I'd really appreciate knowing where you got the clamps from. Bosch FSN OFA 32 KIT 800

No, I just bought a pair of the clamps, not the whole kit. I believe thedude306 and holmz have the full kit. Mine were sourced by Elektrowerkzueg, and added to an order I had with them. We can buy the Bosch track saw and rails down here, but not the clamps!

What are your thoughts on the router plate, in particular?
Does it give you the kind of accuracy you've come to expect from the saw guide setup?
If you don't mind, would you share where you got the kit from? Are you located in the US?
Thanks for any information you care to pass on...

I do have the kit. It was sourced out of Germany in a group buy out of the US and then shipped to Canada for me. It was less money then the festool equivalent. Over all I am VERY pleased with the results I get. BUT..... It's not a high end precision piece of equipment but can be made to be very accurate. It has some quirks. The router plate has some play in it that can be removed (or minimized I guess), but it makes set up a PITA if you don't get all your holes done at once (well before you remove the router) The detent pin is also weak, an easy fix with a bit of sand paper to bevel the edge of the pin and a stretch of the spring. But once your set up, and once you know where the pin holes are going it's a great piece of kit. And fast for doing shelf pins. here it is a with the bosch colt in a plunge base and the holes it produces with the 5mm bit. And here is all it takes on the pin to make it work 100% of the time Untitled by Brad Taylor, on Flickr And here is a video of the play that you can have. Like I say in my comments of the vid, the router plunge base has as much play when you side load and twist it. You can minimize the play by tightening one side of the base (essentially twisting it tight on the track) Even though this is a design issue, it hasn't affected any of my builds. And here is the pin issues before I beveled the edge of the pin and stretched the spring. Works PERFECTLY now and there has been no issues after thousands of holes.

Oh and I forgot to mention, if you are doing a full size pantry or tall bookcases, get at least 3200mm of rail. I started out with two 800mm and didn't like repositioning the rail on long runs. I bought a 1600mm holy rail and find it's perfect with the two 800mm This is the kind of stuff that takes no time at all to do. It's not just for pins. I also dado with it and made the grooves for the panel with a V bit. Untitled by Brad Taylor, on Flickr Untitled by Brad Taylor, on Flickr

I see the Neutrix in the last shot. I wired one up, but it will not bayonet in when wired to the connector,, but the connectors bayonet without the cable in the male bit. Any ideas?

Sounds like its not seated in the shroud properly. You need to push it in and locate it once cabled up and the case screwed tight around the cable.

I now have the Bosch clamps and they are excellent, the Mafell clamps just don't work very well with their limited reach and small handles.
