Agree huntsgemeinI think we are probably in general agreement. And you got me with " Milperra & Port Arthur massacres" There was the Eureka Stockade, but that was not the same as Revolutionary nor the civil war. And the anthems are distinctly different in message and mood between the two countries. The "cowboys and indians" movies of the days of old, and the modern music, TV and movies are also distinctly different. I do not mind a violent movies like "No Country for Old Men" or "Chopper", but it is just too easy a formula to create a life and death TV drama using violence, so there are a 100 versions of CSI. Then there is Wilfred and other SBS and ABC shows of Au, Nz and Eu origin with notably less violence. Then there is NWA and their famous song, which can be compared to the "Hilltop Hoods" "Stopping All Stations", and even in rap the messages are miles apart. Whether guns are useful or not, you are hitting upon ideology... And with the "Proper" ideology a vehicle is as a good as a gun. I am 90% sure that indigenous culture would have been justified to use "death-cult" to describe 'relatively' recent history. That air rifle looks nice, and a feral cat would make a nice backstop. Whether 22 or .177 is better I am not sure. A 222 is probably better for a feral cat than a .338 Lapua if one needs more range.
