Here is a picture of a kitchen I did in Quartersawn White Oak where the sheet goods were cut with a plywood straightedge and a Porter Cable Trim Saw. I will own a Mafell MT55 before I attempt to do another kitchen. Jack

I just finished justifying to my wife why I "needed" the Kapex (when I had a perfectly good DeWalt 12" slider on a Bosch Gravity Rise stand) and now I'm working up the logic for the Mafell ;-) Of course I am also looking at controlling the ground squirrel population that is destroying my garden and while I bought the FX Royale 400 last year, FX is about to introduce this beauty! www.airgunsofarizona.com/FXImpact.htmlYikes! Simple its a back saver. Far easier to lift a sheet that has being broken down in parts than a full sheet

Return the Kapex, get the KSS and the Bosch glider. Or something smaller if you want more portability.

Jacko, Welcome to the MUF. That's a very nice looking kitchen, well done. John Thanks, I probably wasted money by using A2 quatersawn oak plywood for the cabinet boxes but it sure looks nice when you open the top cabinet doors and everything matches. Jack

Don't think it's a waste, I'd do the same thing.

Just a quick update - I did buy the Mafell Track Saw and it sure helps while I'm building my son's kitchen. No more lifting plywood on my table saw with the sliding table and no more using a plywood straight edge and trim saw. It sure helps using great tools!

That's one expensive air rifle! Did you end up buying it? What's it like @ eliminating your "vermin" problem? If so, then why did you go for .22 calibre rather than the greater kinetic energy of a heavier .25 round? I'm not sure what a "ground squirrel" is, but I'm visualising something similar in size/body mass to a rabbit.
Australia has had an ongoing historic problem with introduced European rabbits literally in th hundreds of millions. I can recall going out with a schoolmate @ night with tractor, spotlight & Winchester pump action. When his Oat paddocks were young (springtime), we'd bag some 300+ over about 4 hours spotlighting! I'm not exaggerating. Thanks to the controlled release of the Mixomatosis & Calici viruses, this pest has been prevented from reaching these sort of plague proportions again.
These days Australians aren't allowed any more to "bear arms", must be trained, tested & licenced to do so & have all firearms of any sort registered. In some ways it's not a bad thing (we have a relatively non-violent society as a consequence), but I still miss those old days of 50 odd years ago.

Hello huntsgemein, I purchased the .22 caliber before the .25 caliber was offered but, for the purpose That I bought it for it is excellent in killing 3-4 pound ground squirrels at 100 meters. The FX Air rifle is almost silent and for me living in the city it is very useful without neighbor complaints. The FX Air Rifle is extremely accurate and with a 12 shot magazine it is a very effective rodent tool. The noise is so low that once you kill one the others don't know they are under attack and are easy prey. Let me know if you need any additional information!~

B$... where is the evidence that the guns create the violence? it could be just as likely that there are less guns because the society, or culturally speaking, Australia is less violent.

Well there haven't been mass shootings, the like of the Milperra & Port Arthur massacres, since.
You're right. Firearms don't create violence. But they do facilitate & enable. Restrict supply & the risk of the inevitable consequences of unrestricted supply must also diminish.
I'm particularly concerned with the prospect of the return of Australian born foreign mercenaries, indoctrinated with their barbaric Salafist death-cult & desirous to slaughter, maim & enslave, from their failed Mesopotamian caliphate. I'm frankly relieved there's controls & limitations on firearms ownership, and a total ban on automatic assault & battle rifles.
