I have a rather awkward question: What is the value add of an Erika if you already have an MT55? Most of the cutting an ripping can be done using the MT55. The only possible value add is if you need to cut really small peaces that cannot be held down with the sliding rail, you would need the Erika.
Am I wrong?

There are a lot of jobs that are faster and easier to do on a table saw. and there are certain jobs that are easier on a track saw, cross cutting being an example. The Erika is about as premium as you can get in the portable table saw range but there are many options for both stationary and portable saws.

A lot of it depends on the task you are doing and how many, available room to carry out task. For myself if the task has a lot of repeat cuts the I will tend to go for the Erika if have room to work. Yet if every second piece is different then I prefer the track saw route of if no room to operate

Yes you are right. The comments on the forum have finally helped me taking my decision to buy an Erika. I am planning to build storage cabinets for garage and utility room. And there will be a lot of similar cuts to be made. In the process of converting my attic, the cabinets there need to be built under an angle and require precision. I just ordered an Erika 85; the decision is based on 3 reasons: my old Workmate with mounted saw underneath isn't precise enough; the workmate fences are too wobbly and stowing it after use requires every time dismounting completely the saw - maybe I am becoming lazy after all. The sturdiness of the Erika added another element... and yes there is a Cuprex under the hood.
Ordering one using the Mafell catalogue (2015-2016) was a little bit of a nightmare. Luckily there are some good (German) videos on our forum - especially this one: helped me enormously in choosing the right configuration. And about price, yes it is in line with all Mafell equipment: pay high-end once and no need to buy another ever again.
