Yes and no. On the kss version comes with the same blade as the kss400 corded. Whilst the ksp and ms version comes with the thinner blade

Used my new saw tonight for the first time, well impressed! Cut some wet 8"×2" and 4"×2" no bother and the battery was still reading full after about 20 cuts. I can see me getting alot of use out of this beast. Luxury not having to run power outside and not having to worry about people tripping on the cable sending the saw flying. Its the silver edition saw and has matt paint on the base, i actually prefer the standard paint as it is gloss and the saw runs smoother on the rail. It is a crazy price but its worth it. Wrightwoodwork have you had any batteries die on you and have you tried any of the 4ah ones?

Not had any batteries die. The only slight issue I've had is on a really cold morning and trying to charge a flat battery that had being sitting in the van wouldn't charge straight away. The charger or battery flashed temp. Then when it come up to temperature it was fine and no issues. Also when I just recently had the thinner blade sharpened. I was on the phone to them and asked if they managed to repair the blade and was told it had being repaired.

It's quite old tech now. I think you can get recon batteries for it not sure if the same as the AEG battery. One of the members did or does have one highlander he might be able to give info on it if still about. Where abouts are you based

Based by Banbury, Oxfordshire. Worth the money or go for a new corded 400?

I'd properly go for the corded unless cordless is a must

For the same cost you could get a brand new festool hk55....just saying Seriously I hadn't considered the festool but looking at it today and was amazed at the price.

I'm not a huge fan of cordless but on the crosscut track saws ergonomically it makes sense. But the festool battery is side mounted I think. The corded is only 300 quid with the rail which seems like a great deal.

I think if the new kss 60 has the metabo batts I would be inclined to stump up the extra and go for that but could do a lot with the difference in cash...

Yeah the kss400 and kss60 are still using the bosch battery platform I'd honestly wait or send them emails bugging for the 36v metabo or to up the amp of the bosch battery. Also if choosing between the 2 I'd properly go for the 60 as far as I can make out are about the same cost the 60 is only marginally heavier at 0.3kg then if you need to beval 45 on 2" timber you still almost get it or just a wisker short at 47mm compared to I think 38mm on the 400. Don't get me wrong I'm happy with my 400 36. It would just be nice to see the latest battery technology on them

I am really liking the look of the 60 36v even tho I don't have the 400 36v very long and I love it I might sell it to get the 60 that little extra depth of cut is so tempting As for the battery thing doesn't really bother me I have 5 different ones as it is and I get plenty of run time out of the 400
