Hi good people,
I hope you don't mind me asking regarding routers here.
I am needing to replace skirting board after the plumbers have fitted a new heating system.
I want to hide the copper pipes that run along some of the walls. I have battened out above the pipes then attached skirting to that. But honestly it comes out to far. So what I'm thinking is make my own skirting board. Route out the back to go over the pipes, then an ogee on the front.
I know nothing about routers, other than an old Hitachi I have which is impossible to set and it stay set, so I've kept away from using it.
So which routers would be man enough for the job and can mount into a table? and er what table. I've got a lot to do mostly soft wood. Suggestions, ideas etc welcome.
Thanks,
Kevin.

The reason it is done is to generally save on waste and also to make machining easier to carry out. Here is a possibile soloution. The reason for using 6mm ply or mdf is to reduce the size the skirting comes out from the wall. There is no and hard and fast rules on how the mould is made or the profile it is to be
