I have purchased the LO 50 E and found that the rods for the parallel guide cannot pass through one of the ports (68A in the diagram) because the screw threads on the finger tightening nob have been effected.
It means that the nob cannot be turned to a height that it allows the rod to pass through the port. Is this intentional or a manufacturing error?
Looking at the threads they clearly have been flattened by grinding.
Am I missing something?
best,
Thomas

Hi thomas do you think you could post a few pictures to help others visualise the issue?

It sounds like the threads have somehow being damaged after being screwed in. I have the 65 and thumb turns, turn all the way in and out. It should be the same for the 50. Not sure how the threads have got damaged. Generally if the threads are damaged it won't screw in and is very rare for the threads to damaged once screwed in. Where abouts are you based

Hi Jonathan and Wrightwoodwork,
Thanks for your responses.
I took some pictures, in them you can see the threads have been flattened somehow. god knows how they screwed it on..
I'm glad to hear you think it might be a fault.
I'm based in central Brussels, I have a very good dealer at CIPAC here.
not sure how to attach the pictures..

In the top picture you can see the flat surface on threads.
In the bottom picture you see the nob at its highest point, with screw thread still visible in port.

Will this screw come out all the way? looks to me like it needs to be replaced. lets hope the threading on the tool base isn't affected. I'd contact Mafell or your deALER.
