Well - I get to test Timberwolf's service as my jigsaw broke yesterday - the plunge rod no longer goes up and down. I was cutting some 4 inch walnut and it made it through about half the cut and I heard a pop and then the blade stopped. The motor kept running. Very weird. I had just finished making some notches as I had in my video and it was cutting perfect as expected. Switched to a longer blade and needed to cut with a 3 degree angle so used the tilting base. I do not fancy having to buy a new saw. Luckily I bought it in February so I am hoping that whatever is wrong is covered under warranty.

too bad on the issue. Hopefully it gets resolved to your satisfaction. Always something that concerned me about purchasing Mafell was the warranty.

Yeah - I have had tool failure on just about every machine or tool brand I have used so things happen. I am hoping it is something easy, but I will see what they say.

It'll be interesting to see how this plays out.

I will be sure to post back. I am going to look at the parts diagram to see if I can figure out what happened - maybe it is an easy fix.

Unfortunate that you had to experience this but please keep us posted on the servicing of this tool. What failed and why? how is mafell/timberwolf handling the issue. Important to document, good and bad experiences. I'm a little heart broken as my p1cc seems invincible!

It's always a pest when something deciedes to break. Hope you get it sorted soon. The only thing I have managed to break with the p1cc is a blade

Thanks - got it all packaged up to ship out, hopefully tomorrow. It is not life or death since I have three other jigsaws, but I really liked the Mafell. Hope it gets sorted. I would buy another one if I had to - it cuts that well. I will keep everyone apprised - my guess is that it will be several weeks shipping and repair time.

This is my biggest fear with living in Canada and purchasing Mafell. I know Timberwolf is great to deal with, but no matter how you slice it shipping from Canada to Timberwolf is going to take time and be expensive...

It really is a pity that timberwolf doesn't have a couple of authorised repair agents in Canada and maybe another in America.

Before Timberwolf took over, we had our own distributor here in Canada. He was amazing!

Good luck & sorry that sucks. I'm sure Timberwolf will repair the saw but it's still rough to be without a tool and have to pay shipping & waste your time boxing the thing up and taking it to the post office etc etc. On the brighter side it's a good life when you have 15 backup jigsaws even if they are inferior

Called and spoke to David first thing this morning - this is a first that they have heard of this saw having an issue like this. We traded some email back and forth and they are going to help resolve the issue - just need to determine if a fix or a replacement is needed. I am going to connect with him tomorrow to see what is what, but they are certainly standing behind their product, which is great. I want to post this so that anyone who might have been hesitant with service will see this. Now for me, the saw is still under warranty so there will not be any costs involved for me...if you live in NA make sure you fill out the little warranty card and send it back in to make sure you are covered!
I will post back when I learn more. In some ways the whole reason I bought the saw was to aid in the project that I am building now and that I am knee deep in so it would be a bummer if I have to do without the saw for a long time, but I am curious to know what happened on this machine as well.
This is still the best jigsaw I have ever used from a cut quality standpoint and I firmly believe this was a flukey thing that happens sometimes...heck my Laguna and Felder stuff have had problems before as well as some Festool items. So I am not concerned from that standpoint...just bummed that it happened.
