I am starting this thread more for reference purposes. The Mafell variant of the Starmix ISP series of vacs is called the S 35 M. As of today (December 2014), there is only a 230v version of this tool available, but I wanted to start a knowledge base about it for future reference, should it ever be released in 120v for North America. Here is link to the Mafell product flyer: www.mafell.de/download/prospekte/mafell_prospekt_s35m_4c_gb_0414_s.pdfHere is a link to the Mafell spare parts page for all of their vacuums, including the S 35 M as well as the older Starmix vacs: service.mafell.de/index.php?IdTreeGroup=12948#V:29763,8544,29960,8544-VARS/S:8544-VARS/ Of note is the part #'s for the S 50 M "Max Support" (Systainer Dock), part # 093672 and 078248 for the tabs. There is also a "nameplate", which is presumably a Mafell sticker 203596, as well as a pack of screws that may or may not be associated, 078195. I have a message in to Timberwolf Tools asking is Mafell has made a definitive decision regarding whether or not to release the S 35 M in 120v. Apparently the 230v version is not inexpensive (~$1k), but it comes with an antistatic hose and a few other internal features not available on the Metabo ASR 35M, making it more similar to the Rokamat Tapir 35 M, which retails for closer to $1500. I am also seeking pricing and availability for the "Max Support" parts. I hope this helps, I'm curious if any other users have any relevant information?

Hmm, does Starmix build these like the Festool vacs (same vac unit, with just larger tubs for more capacity)?
The availability of the dock would greatly push me towards upgrading to ASR 35 ACP from my CT 26. Took junkie, I may be, but I can really only rationalize one $600+ vac at a time.

Yeah starmix makes them. The s25 and s50 use the same motors different bins. The s35 uses a a 1400 watt motor instead of a 1200 watt motor and the bin is a different design

Unlike Festool, Starmix does not make various sized reservoir "tubs". The previous generation of vacs were available in a smaller and larger version, and the current generation is only available as a ~26 liter version. For my needs as a remodeler, I like the 26 liter size, as I feel that it is a nice blend of having a reasonably large capacity, but is also small and light enough to be portable. Regarding the number of vacs, I usually carry two vacs with me in the van, though now that I have some warehouse space I may pair that down to one as a daily item. That being said, on big jobs where I have a work shop set up in the house, I regularly have three vacs (Metabo/Starmix ASR 35, CT-26, CT-MIDI) set up, and I've frequently wanted a fourth. One vac is attached to the miter saw, another attached to the table saw, and the third gets swapped between sanders, routers, etc..... It's spendy, but it's also nice to not be constantly swapping cords and hoses between tools. Follow-up: I heard back from Timberwolf, it sounds like they CAN bring in parts and accessories for the various Mafell (Starmix) vacuums. The Systainer plate (093672-18) sells for $36, and the retainer tabs (078248-02) sell for $3, plus shipping. You can also get the various Mafell antistatic hoses.

I'm in the market for a dust extractor for my Kapex. I need more power. The ct isn't pulling the composite that I cut often. I'd really like something made by Mafell. I want something along the size of the Midi or ct22. Anyone have any good suggestions for me? Thx!

Keep in mind, mafell rebrand their vacuums. They are originally made by a company called Starmix, who make the same vacuum for metabo, available in the us.
