Hi folks!
Whew, FINALLY taking a day "off" (I still have hours of book work ahead of me), but I'm taking a few minutes to poke around online.
Looking back on my Summer, I realize that I processed more 6x6 treated posts than I had in previous seasons combined, and since that trend is likely to continue, I'm looking to improve my speed and quality of work processing these (relatively) large timbers.
These posts are primarily being used for deck building, so most of my cuts are trimming the posts to length, and some notching to accept headers.
To date, I've been using the "Cut-N-Flip" method, using either a worm drive saw, or more recently my KSS-400 and P1cc with a long blade to complete the cuts. However, flipping a dozen or more posts can get very old very quickly, and I'd like to pursue a solution that allows a single pass.
Long term, yes I'd LOVE to eventually own a ZSX 400 or MKS 165, but in the mean time I want to reserve my tool funds for tools I would get more regular use out of, such as Erika 70/85, MF-26cc, KSS-80, etc....
I have several "traditional" saws sitting in my warehouse collecting dust, and am wondering if I can breathe new life into them with a $160 chain saw adapter. Right now I have a Bosch worm drive, Makita 5377 Hypoid saw, and Makita 5008MGA 8.25" sidewinder that are eligible for this adaptation.
Does anybody have any experience with the Prazi chainsaw adapter? Is it reasonably easy and safe to use? Any suggestions as to whether I should mount on a worm-style or sidewinder saw?
Any input is much appreciated, thanks!!
Best,
Tom
